  1. Try Ruan Chamberlain at a-type grafix. Great products - will design what you need. Based in Stikland, Cape Town. ruan@a-type.co.za
  2. Give keanbikes a go as well - got my GX cassette (10-50) for under 4k quite recently...
  3. Have done a fair bit of riding there over the years and also no issues. Some lovely scenery! Enjoy!
  4. Alternatively http://ocorner.co.za seems to offer most services the full oakley site offers. They may also be able to assist.
  5. Pienk is pienk, maar ‘n Grizl is ‘n Grizl 😜🤣
  6. Give Kean Bikes a go as well - the do rigid carbon forks as well. Presume they will do boost and non-boost
  7. Well, for what it’s worth… I’m using a rapide hanger extender to fit a 11-46T 10spd cassette with my GRX RD-RX400 rear derrailleur (34T max) and it works smoothly. 🤘
  8. The heart attacks were almost real.. hahahaha
  9. I'm can comfortably fit 38c Maxxis Ramblers on my Scott Speedster 30 (2020). Which year model is yours? Are the wheels 135mm QR or 142 through axle at the back? I presume the former if the tire clearance is what you have (newer models are factory specced with 45c tyres). And have a chat to Rapide - they build some decent wheels at sensible prices!
  10. To be fair... that bit is pretty close to the summit - some walking may have been done before that already 😜
  11. Pretty sure you can walk past. Not sure what the rest of the road looks like, but that bit is toast!
  12. Mate of mine went up in the past week - parts of the road are completely destroyed. Pic is a screenshot from @ArnieKitshoff's Strava. Presume it will take a while before it's rideable.
  13. Just a fantastic opportunity to support an amazing cause! Let's get behind Tienie and raise some funds - think we are aiming north of 50K to top last year? LET'S DO THIS!! 🦾
  14. What an amazing journey! Legend! 🤘
  15. South Industries are local as well... There's also Kean Bikes that do carbon imports. Have seen them advertising carbon wheelsets on the Hub. Enjoy the shopping!
  16. Give A-Type Grafix a try. Had an original batch made by bicistickers.com - very good quality, but about R15/sticker. Then had A-Type do the same thing for the same price, but got about 200 stickers in stead of 12.... Give Ruan Chamberlain a shout at ruan@a-type.co.za - they will do pretty much anything you need! Cheers, Christo
  17. Hi Guys, Some background... My scott spark rc 900 comp 2020 has syncros silverton 2.5 wheels fitted with a standard HG/shimano freebody. I would presume that the hubs are some form of DT Swiss (3 pawl) as per the post above. The end caps however do not just pop off (as one can see in the dt swiss tutorials on youtube) - they require a 11mm hex to remove. If I wanted to move to an XD drive, would the standard 3 pawl xd driver with through axel end cap (as sold by bike-addict or cyclelab) be sufficient? Or is there a different solution to this? Thanks! Christo
  18. Dropped @gemmerbalat the Worcester shuttle a little while ago. He’s good to go! Let’s do this!
  19. Last trip down Ouberg in May - with @gemmerbal. Was interesting..... Fortunately light enough to mostly see where you're going. Nice and fresh -6 degrees just to make it fun... hahaha
  20. T-minus 2 days! Good luck guys and girls!
  21. Look, not riding this monster… but Ouberg is a serious concern - particularly if it’s dark. Horrible road surface and dangerous drops both sides at times. Might be worth your while to tackle that in daylight 😬
  22. This is such a boost! Fantastic!
  23. Jou knieë gaan nie die Dakar maak op 50 nie.. haahahahaha 😛
  24. I think the point is still that most amateurs do this because the can. Not for podiums or prize money. If you want to do it and can afford it.. Ride away!
