  1. You will not be the only one. Go, and just have fun. In any case, everybody will be too busy enjoying themselves to worry about others being ‘different’! and the racing snakes? Let them racing snake!
  2. I've been mixing 2:1 ratio of 40g maltodextrin and 20g fructose in a 750ml bottle. Still need to eat something on slow long ride (4-5 hours) I need to get a mix right that'll work for a 6 hour high intensity ride, but I'll be limited to 2 bottles and a 1.5l mini mule, otherwise I'll have to stop for water. Mixing high volumes of malto and fructose seems to need more work than just measuring off the dosages, add water and shake... What do you guys do to get the stuff to dissolve at higher volumes per bottle?
  3. Dylan was hit by a car. No more riding for him for a bit. Hopefully, once the pain subsides, he'll make more videos. Preferably a lot of backwards hat Dylan stuff/introspection about trucks, tyres, Unbound
  4. Never seen it. Rarely open something that has a 'social feed' though
  5. This statement makes no sense. A sporting body can share details of people using substances against a code they subscribe to (by choice, as they compete in a sport managed by said body, which upholds that code). Given the example that was brought up on this thread, not share names of people who were found guilty of contravening the same codes (albeit by most a more serious one - causing harm to others. even minors)? What is the difference?
  6. for a team owner / manager / rider, I understand the onus is on them not to associate with certain individuals who have been sanctioned by CSA / UCI (banned for a period of time, etc). Is there a mechanism for the above hypothetical owner / manager / rider to (other than google), confirm that people they are dealing/might deal with / come across their paths are actually above board, and will not lead to them being embarrassed (at the least)
  7. Nothing/nobody specific. Just a general question w.r.t. people that are 'out of bounds' as there are so many who claim credibility and legitability, but how to check that? Surely the lowest hurdle / bar would be a list of people / groups that CSA sanctioned / 'banned' due to whatever violation Start to feel like I'm riding into an "Omerta" wall here. Get more excuses (cover ups?) than real answers
  8. One has been mentioned already. Given human nature, surely there must be more? Ideally, there should not be people to be put on such a list! Surely, if CSA / UCI sanctions an individual/group (basically prevents them from having something to do with cycling), and CSA / UCI are able to impose penalties on groups / people registered with CSA/UCI, they should have a list of such individuals / groups available?
  9. Okay, given the above example, surely there must be a list of 'banned/sanctioned' people available somewhere? edit: dopers are listed, surely there must be a list of other people to 'avoid'?
  10. People get sanctioned by CSA & UCI for more than just doping. These individuals are not allowed to be 'involved in cycling' (my paraphrasing) for however long is deemed necessary. Is there a list available of currently sanctioned individuals? Surely there must be, other than the obtuse headings of press releases/web pages, e.g.: "Cycling South Africa / [Individual/Group Name]" What are the possible repercussions if you have dealings with such an individual in a cycling related matter?
  11. Without mentioning names, what does it mean if CSA sanctions an individual? Is there a list of such individuals available for general reference? I know, RSA is the country of the free, but what if CSA licensed riders/groups/teams/clubs have connections to such individuals?
  12. And… we wait… a bit… more…
  13. Apple Find My, Garmin LiveTrack, all in a dual sim phone (EmptyN & WoudaCom). Reception can be spotty in places). Incident detection activated on Garmin activated (it does work, even if you just suddenly reduce speed to zero, aka puncture). Fall detection activated on Apple Watch (seems more arm specific than anything else)
  14. Schoemansdrift bridge, Saturday
  15. Seemingly pancake flat. I might not be an 80kg anything (Definitely not a 80kg climber like Matt Beers!), so anybody with any info/experience on previous events?
  16. The real question is how the above translate into real world use!
  17. BicycleRollingResistance.com ? Do not see anything sawtooth though
  18. I did a virtual figure of 8 but then Windoze decided to have a shutdown mid ride. No cool pics to show for it 😢
  19. The tandem, or two single bicycles?
  20. I've only ever did the half, and that in the mud. Was lots of fun 😁, the ride was most definitely not 'sister-like' (whatever that might mean) Did some/all of the folling: freezing my backside off, dodging the mud being slung into my face from my front wheel, putting my glasses away because I could actually see better through caked lashes than muddy glasses. scraping mud & rocks off my wheels with a stick Ended up riding from coffee station to coffee station the 10km neutral zone to the start for the event might well have been my fastest flat 10km of the day Think I'll hold out for another muddy year... or maybe next year, but then with drop handles!
  21. N currently consist of: Biggie, Sport, Soul, R2 A humble collection hey @NotSoBigBen?
  22. Old enough to know telegrams STOP Young enough to ride bicycles STOP

  24. The road was in good condition yesterday. Usual (thin) muddy spot at the bridge after the T from Koedoeslaagte. To me, the road was in good condition generally, I even managed a few Strava PRs 😊 Could just ride, not hunt lines This was on a hardtail 29er with >= 2.3 tyres General Observations: 1. Bottom of the back of Venterskroon downhill, people were filling a rut. 2. Going over the bridge before the drag to the Potch tar road it’ll be best to be careful about bike lines taken. Not sure if the repair works included repairs there 3. Apparently the road(s)? on the ‘far’ side of Skandinawïedrif is still very wet/muddy. Guess it’ll get some attention as soon as machinery can get in safely.
  25. Sal more self 'n paar fotos gaan neem. "nuwe" reelings is weer weg... Nuutste fotos wat ek gesien het,
