  1. It's actually been quite interesting - with my Wife being a coach she usually does some form of Training Program for me - especially when we're full-on racing. But with no real goals, I've been following the Zwift stuff. Did all three the ZA's and now the 3 13.1 Plan and the Grand Fondo plan. When I go onto Training Peaks and look at my Fatigue vs Fitness vs Form charts, even though I'm doing each Zwift session by the book and getting all the stars and working in a rest day my fitness is actually decreasing. I was really surprised. Just goes to show I guess - you can follow all these on-line programs and sure they will get you to a certain level, but nothing beats a personalized one.
  2. Yup I've called time on the Grand Fondo. Had a shocking TTT on Thursday night and my 5km TT for the 3 13.1 Plan where they use that pace for the rest of the plan going forward was also a disaster. So time for a reset.
  3. https://www.crash.net/f1/news/950737/1/first-look-new-f1-colours-daniel-ricciardo-mclaren I think he was sneakily at the factory and leaned on the cockpit before the paint had dried properly.....
  4. I've seen Copenhagen's "gravel". Not exactly Roof-of-Africa stuff now, is it...... It's probably more technical riding down Germiston's potholed riddled streets than Danish cobble
  5. Yup - I had visions of doing them all and getting the stars. But Sunday that all went out the window. I could do the 5min above Threshold sets, but the 10min "recovery" in between were anything but that. I lost 4 of the 12 stars. Talking stars, I see the shortlist for the ZA Run Academy was announced. I hit every single star on the ZA Run, and followed everything by the book. I'm not a natural runner but I did think they would look at how well you could follow a program, and by doing that I might make the shortlist. No such luck unfortunately.
  6. I'm into week 3 now of the 3 Run 13.1 Plan and the GF cycling plan. Sh1ts definitely getting real now - I can still manage the run but the cycling is getting a bit tough now. Battled to do the 2hr ride on Sunday
  7. British car? I guess then it only makes sense to have a hairstyle similar to Prince William.
  8. 1.0-something to 1 - very low
  9. It's low - 1.0-something/1
  10. So - my cards are on the table - R500 on Vettel being 2021 F1 Champ. 101/1........ www.gbets.co.za
  11. I looked at BWIN - I'm not even sure we are allowed to used that site - shows you how much I know. But there is a calculator there which shows how many Euro you could win if you bet.... I am really keen, but will need to see what site is legit.
  12. You beat me to it!
  13. I'm not a betting man at all - in fact I never do. But I probably would have spent R500 by now on Booze so I'm going to put that R500 on Vettel being 2021 WC...... A R500 bet could net close to R40000 if he manages to pull it off.
  14. Not impossible at all. They are here. Not too many (25 I think) but that was the first order. Was it blue or red?
  15. Only 16:00 today
  16. https://newatlas.com/motorcycles/kawasaki-hybrid-motorcycle-prototype/ Explains it quite nicely here!
  17. That's probably more likely hey!
  18. Been waiting for this day for a while now - 26 Jan. Hopefully the new KLR70o. And the other one? - who knows. But given Kawasaki's reputation for doing pretty much anything that the others aren't - hell it might even be a new KDX! https://www.rideapart.com/news/457958/kawasaki-january-2021-motorcycle-launch/
  19. I used to watch OCC and Biker Build-off back when I had DSTV and often wondered how practical they were - some of the ways they routed exhausts and changed frame geometry made me cringe. Seems like I wasn't far off my suspicions!
  20. I've been toying with the idea of getting one - planted the seed with the Coach, but she isn't biting just yet!
  21. I've been a bit lost after the ZA's so floated around a bit. Decided to get some structure and joined the 13.1mi (21km) 16 week run plan and also the Grand Fondo Cycling plan. I'm getting the feeling after the first week that the ZA's were designed for the masses and were a little tame. These two plans are pretty intense - to a point where I'm thinking I was a bit optimistic enrolling for both at the same time
  22. It's very difficult as a Coach too. Tough to try and motivate athletes to train when there isn't anything to train for. Zwift has helped a hell of a lot, but even that is becoming a bit stale now. Were even looking at doing a DC type of ride in the near future, just to give the IM athletes something to aim for.
  23. You might well be right - Emma Pallant left BMC and went to Spez and LCB left Spez. From a marketing point you would think LCB would be the better option of the two currently, so can only think that Spez might be looking at their budgets a bit more carefully
  24. That's interesting - a good rule of thumb is that if you sell a bike overseas you can only count on about 60% of what you get for it actually making its way into your bank account - so assuming 4k I would probably only get 2.4k out. But multiply that by 18 and it does make sense - because the demand in SA is very low so it's not going to sell here for R30k let alone R40k....
  25. As it stands though, I have again over-capitalized. It will never pay me back what I have spent in ZAR. But then we don't buy these things and restore them to make money!
