  1. So I did think long and hard before posting this because my Wife has the Dinamic Coaching Franchise in Gauteng so there is obviously a bit of bias. So forgive me - this is genuinely not to punt Dinamic, but rather just an excellent talk for Triathletes (or any athlete really). If you're serious about your training, and are wondering if you need a coach then take and hour and listen - Neil is up there with the best in the world and as an analyst he's probably one of the best. The stuff I have learnt from him both when he coached me, and also just listening to the Coaching discussions he and my wife have has been phenomenal. And he's constantly researching new methods - we've recently been looking at INSCYD testing and some of the results coming out of that are really promising. https://scientifictriathlon.com/tts284/
  2. Dammit - why didn't I see this before I bought a late model 175.... https://www.bikeexif.com/yamaha-dt175-sabotage-motorcycles?omhide=true
  3. I am so going to call her Tannie when we have a beer again.......
  4. We were aiming for Silver too and were well on track until just after halfway where my wife had a bit of a dip. She recovered well towards the end, and put in some monster pulls on the road leading to Sun City - in fact we were catching the 6 hour Garmin virtual man pretty quickly but there was just too much to do, and my legs were spent anyway. But what really p*ssed me off the most is I specially rode laps in the car park to make up 160km so I could get the Garmin 100mi badge. I stopped and saved my workout on exactly 160km. And it came up on Garmin Connect as 159.97. FFS
  5. Must say I had a great time. Really enjoyed it. Kudo's to all the gravel bikes - it couldn't have been too much fun between halfway and WP 3 with those corrugations, and It did look like the majority of the crashes we saw were on Gravel bikes so maybe they are quite tricky to ride if you get tired. I can see the attraction of a gravel bike on this specific route though - I have resisted the urge to go 1x and I'm still running an original M780 XT triple crank with a 42T front blade. The tar sections were lovely!
  6. I doubt it - if that was the case Mazepin's bike would have training wheels.
  7. I met Burry a few times and he was always really pleasant. Never got the feeling that he felt he was doing a favor by chatting to me. And I rode with Cherise and her Dad a few times too and she was very cool. And I recently got to meet our naturalized SA Triathlete Emma Pallant-Browne who is really down to earth and a good laugh. Come to think of it, I have been lucky to meet a few top SA athletes, and the only one who I felt behaved like an absolute d*ck was our first RWC captain. That surprised me. The best to date? Has to be Brad Binder - that guy is just pure Krugersdorp! If you didn't know any better he's just the guy next door washing his MX bike in the yard and apologizing for wetting your wall. By and large I think SA Athletes are all just pretty cool people.
  8. Mazepin shouldn't have too many problems spinning the pedals
  9. On the running theme, my Treadmil at home needs a new running deck (blame Zwift!) - It's a semi-commercial one because it's part of the business, so it can be replaced. The Agents haven't been too helpful - no stock etc etc. From what I understand there are people in SA who manufacture Running Decks, but I can't seem to find a contact person. Anyone here perhaps know someone who could help?
  10. Even Taki Inoue who was the epitome of moving chicanes and lakes the piss out of his F1 career in Twitter reckons Mazepin is useless!
  11. https://jalopnik.com/nikita-mazepins-utter-inability-to-race-a-formula-1-car-1846800298 Suffice to say Jalopnik isn't a big fan of Mazespin
  12. I had to read that three times before I realized what you actually wrote....
  13. Took the bumblebee (as my Wife has christened it) out for a ride this weekend. I didn't go crazy because the engine is still very new, but glad to report no major issues. Still has that nice 175 bottom end, but you can feel it revs a lot easier than a standard one. A few teething problems - It needs a new fuel tap which isn't cheap, and the front wheel has a buckle, but all things I can sort out over time.
  14. I've been following this series - To be fair they aren't really Baggers, but still fun to watch!
  15. It's just because I didn't put the rear carrier back - I didn't think it was really necessary so it looks a bit long. Also at some stage someone has broken off the rear number plate bracket and a new one is R2000 for a silly piece of plastic - I'm just using a smaller number plate bolted directly to the frame mount.

    Who remembers?

When I was growing up it was Mary-Kate and Ashley who were the hit
  17. Will also help when I go hunting 200 Dukes and 310 BMW's..... Being beaten at a Traffic Light GP by a mere 125 is going to make them really hate their bikes
  18. 175. I was originally going to convert my 125LC to yellow so ordered the YZ125 Sticker kit. The I found the 175 and decided to change it instead. I couldn't find the correct font to have a 175 sticker made to look exactly like 125 so I just used the 125 one.
  19. Got the seat back on Monday so fitted it last night. That's pretty much it now. I must put the numberplate on and the mirrors at some stage but I've been a bit busy so haven't really had a chance. And the Silencer needs to be finished, but I have to actually ride it first before I do that
  20. Now this is something I would sell my collection for.... https://brcracing.ca/brc-r600/
  21. Bwahhaaaaaa.... https://whendidmazepinspin.com/
  22. I've got my Dad's Jacket from the 1970's when he used to bike, and my Wife wears my Moms one when she went on the back. They are both pretty worn in places, but still really cool. There's just something about wearing a genuine 1970's Jacket vs wearing a 2020's jacket made to look like it's from 1970. Much the same with bikes to I guess - I'm talking to you BMW R90T Scrambler......
  23. We watched Promising Young Woman the day before it won at BAFTA's - I quite enjoyed it - I won't put out spoilers, but it's pretty edgy.....
  24. Yes but to we really want Marzipan free to roam the nightclubs of Pretoria and Cape Town? (Because every South African knows the prettiest girls are from Pretoria or Cape Town )
  25. What they should do is paint a pair of naked breasts on the gearbox of either the Mercedes or the Red Bull - guaranteed Marzipan will never spin out if that was the case. On second thoughts he would probably drive right into the back of one of them just to get a closer look.
