    Who remembers?

My dad dumped an old box of "stuffs" in my garage to be given to charity. Dug this out and put in a battery..... 1980's called.....
  2. F-me. ZA Tri workout #2. Looked like a breeze. It most certainly wasn't. Probably the hardest ZA workout I have done so far..... Over/unders - 70.3 intensity/Ironman intensity - 16min repeats x 4

I bet there was an ultimatum - either you stop racing or there will be no moaning on any level whatsoever.
  4. (cue my best Siri impersonation) "Ok, here is what I have found so far" Engine has had a hard life - needs a complete rebuild Someone has been abusing the clutch The tank has a hole in it Plastics are not great Sigh.....
  5. Aaaaand as things usually work, shortly after posting this message and getting my head around turning my 125 yellow, I find this in Potch. Which followed me home about two weeks ago. So change of plan - the 175 will now become a YZ replica.
  6. I must admit, I was a bit stale from racing after doing it for close to 25 years so was really struggling to find something to do - having tried Road, MTB, Duathlon and Triathlon. This WTRL TTT series has been a lot of fun - I get to manage a Team, do all the data analysis, DS and still get to race on the odd occasion - I'd like to get a team to the PL eventually, but it's a work in progress. One of Dinamic's Athletes does a huge amount of AI simulation for Foundries all over the world and he's working on a model ala Moneyball - that's going to be really interesting because it's going to hopefully predict who is strongest where, so that we know who must be riding where at specific parts of the course.
  7. We're part of ZSUN Racing and so is Red Giants - all Star and Constellation names. Dinamic Coaching had a bunch of athletes who wanted to try TTT but didn't know how to start, so we asked ZSUN if we could race under their banner, but manage the Teams ourselves - so we have three - the Vienna/Latte team (depending on who is available), the B Latte team and then the feeder team. The plan is to keep the teams together as long as possible and eventually get faster as a group - when we were riding for ZSUN they kept on changing the teams so it was very disruptive. The problem we have now after last nights race is two of our Vienna ladies are on the ZSUN radar now so they are going to get poached for the faster teams which is what we tried to avoid.
  8. We had a mixed bag - ZSUN-Draco had a great ride in Vienna and were lying third overall at one stage before the other zones came in, but Triton had a Technical at the start with Discord so messed up the departure. And then the storm caused one of our riders to drop connection so we only had 5 in the end. The Biscuits and Tea team was given a real eye-opener. My Wife was riding with them and she was fan-viewing each rider (all of them are her athletes) so she was kakking them out for being in the wrong gears, riding too easily, or generally just being lazy! I think they all thought they were in for a recovery ride!
  9. We have ZSUNR-DRACO which is the Vienna team, ZSUNR-TRITON which the the Triathletes and ZSUNR-MOON which is the "Koek en Tee" team....
  10. We have three teams - a Ladies Vienna team, a Mixed team and then the Cheese and Wine team for the beginners. Actually works out really well because we have already had beginners from the Cheese and Wine progress really rapidly into solid C riders.
  11. Myself - I have a Giant TCR in my garage and I ride a TCR on Zwift. I'll try the Canyon during the TTT tomorrow night, but will probably go back to the Giant after that.
  12. I watched the new Borat. Hmmmm. I didn't enjoy it and there were quite a few cringeworthy scenes. I actually stopped about 3/4 in and haven't felt the need to finish watching it.
  13. Well got tired of waiting so just did a Group ride this morning hey Presto I'm now done with ZA - Cycling. Bit of an anti-climax though - just a small message saying check your garage for unlocks. The Canyon is the same as the one you can buy - but you have the option of a blue ZA Paintjob. I wonder if you are allowed to supertuck on the virtual Canyon
  14. Well still no reply so I've started with the ZA Run and the ZA Tri workouts. The first Tri workout was quite interesting - all low cadence stuff - and step downs so 65 rpm, 60 rpm, 55 rpm x3. Will have to see how the rest work out, but the two races at the end are a 40km TT and a 10km run which is going to be interesting to do!
  15. New Yamaha MT-09 - wonder how much Sake and Shochu the guys who designed the exhaust drank..... https://www.yamahamotorsports.com/hyper-naked/models/mt-09
  16. I'm a bit grumpy - did all the ZA workouts, both the races and two group rides - everything shows on Zwift Power and also at the top of the ZA progress screen. But I'm still only at 91% and seem to be missing either a race or a group ride.... Mailed Zwift, but up to now, *crickets*.......... Am I missing something else?
  17. They are like Citi Golfs. Very difficult to kill, nice and cheap to repair and their are hundreds of second-hand parts around.
  18. Just a little bit of useless info while we're talking fans - when my wife went to Kona in 2014 in the months that preceded the event she was doing 4 to 5 hour sets on the indoor trainer (we had the gpx file so she was riding the route) with all the windows and door in the training room closed with the tumbledryer on full drying wet towels just to simulate the the conditions. When I used to get back from work the air was so thick I could hardly breath in the room....
  19. Supporting Louis has become like supporting Cyril - you know in there somewhere is the ability to do great things and you hope that the next event will be the one where the animal comes out. But when the opportunity presents, and the dust has settled, you're just left feeling bloody frustrated again.
  20. I think he probably got there all on his own - his form has been good this year and he showed some guts at the Tour that's for sure
  21. So do I - Doug has really put a lot into the project.
  22. just saw this now. Stoked for him, but for NTT I guess there won't be any hail mary saves. I reckon they are done.
  23. Jaaaa - apparently I never saw that option when i signed up - so now none of my data has imported into Todays Plan. Oh well. Bugger
  24. TBH I'm more hoping they give you some sort of summary at the end, of how you performed - the workouts keep saying they are doing this set to see how you react here and that set to see how you react there so hopefully there is something. I'm quite happy with my Giant TCR - I just want those BORA wheels - I rode a bike IRL once which had them, and I've always lusted after a pair. But they are beyond affordable now I'm afraid so a virtual pair will have to do!
  25. I did the ZA Race#2 this morning. Saw it was only 23-odd km but started at 04:00. Naive me wondered what the hell I was going to do from 05:00 when I finished to 06:00 when I leave for work. Holy-crap. At 10km to go, I was already at 05:15 and going up the hill at 10kph.....I almost threw in the towel. 22.9km, 1196m of climbing. I felt like I was bleeding out of my eyeballs. One more Group ride to go though and I am done with this ZA nonsense!
