Had a look at your ad, may I suggest putting a few more photos up, not just the rear hub and tensioner? Also, as it's not a SS specific frame, maybe consider putting gears on it and selling it as a geared bike.

These tops were delivered today for the bar counter in our new conference centre, nice slabs of wood.

Before During After Lightly sanded 1st coat Woodoc The reaction with the vinegar/steel wool mix happens quickly. Quite cool to see, can get the same effect with stain though.

Messing around with steel wool, vinegar and bleach to get the weathered timber look... "Old" wood on top, new at the bottom. Quite interesting to see the reaction on wood. Will do some before, during and after photos when I do the top I'm busy with for a friend.

I had that fork on my bike, nice "give" but the steering was a bit vague, replaced it with a carbon Ritchey which instills a lot more confidence in the corners.

Job done:

I'm going for the used, "distressed" look, so I've rounded the edges with the sander, to take the sharp edge off, was going to do it with the router, but that's too uniform.

Making progress on the table, mistakes have been made, and lessons learnt, but I'm happy with the outcome so far. Spreader to be done, final sanding, and then time to stain and seal!

Ja, that's solid, my top's not going to be that solid, it's 32 thick, planed some 38x152's to 32 and took 7mm off the sides to get a straight edge, so they're 145 wide x 8 is 1160 wide. Still need to add the breadboards, then it will be 2390 long.

Huh, not sure my dumb brain can work out what you're asking... I wanted the legs to be square, and could not get anything near a 140 x 140 single piece, so took 2 x 76 x 152's, cut and planed to 70 x 140, which when laminated comes to 140 x 140. The glue should be plenty strong enough (the surface area glued is big and the actual lap joint is also glued), but I also plan to bolt the spreader to the middle of the X, which will hold it together, just undecided how I'm going to make the spreader, may be 50mm pipe, though I'd like a big (read BIG) turnbuckle, like this:

Made these: To join these: For this: The table is slowly taking shape, used a biscuit jointer, pocket holes and glue, finished half of the top when I ran out of screws and clamps, will carry on tomorrow.

Agree with you there, I think that they wanted to show their product and abilities (they manufacture roof trusses), it's in front of their reception. When they do mine, I'll probably have plates cut and powder coated to bolt the trusses together.

The below pics show some of the complexity of the design. The king post sits on the top of the arch, not sure though if you'd straighten out the arch if it would line up with the "top" sides.
