  1. A family friend asked me to make an oversized Jenga set for her coffee shop's play area, so because I could make 4 boxes out of a sheet of plywood, I made 4 sets, which have all subsequently been booked/sold/given away, and I'm having to make more, so I'm building boxes this weekend...
  2. Buy Masonite while you can still get it...
  3. I'm at Foresta Timber & Board in Alberton, we have a little bit of hardwood stock (some Iroko, Red and White Oak, some Beech and some Cherry), we generally do hardwoods on special order when customers require it. We stock quite a bit of Meranti, the bulk of our sales though is Pine and ply.
  4. Eish, I stand under correction, but our price on 9mm is around R415 ex VAT per sheet (2750mm x 1830mm)
  5. Sorry for the delay, only saw this now, will send you the prices in the AM.
  6. We do, in 3, 6, 9, 12, 16, 18, 22 and 30mm
  7. That's nice, but my ultimate "old" BMW is the 3.0CSL. One of my suppliers has a mint condition one, it is beautiful.
  8. Somebody is smoking some good stuff, I just had a look at our prices, 38 x 152 Meranti (rough) is around R11 600 per cube. I wish we could get R39 000 per cube!
  9. Roadtripping last weekend...
  10. Just as well I left my bike at home, after a failed attempt to land in George in winds gusting up to 105km/h, we rerouted to Cape Town to wait it out. Disembarked in Cape Town, boarded again later in the day to try again, when the Captain announces that George airport is closed due to fires, and we'll be returning to Joburg. I got off the plane, along with some fellow travelers, rented a car and we road tripped to Danna Bay. Hopefully pick up the car I came down to buy this morning and then hit the long road back to Joburg, been a bit of an adventure so far...!
  11. I'm in George on Saturday, maybe I should take a bike... Anyone know Kulula's rules on flying with bicycles?
  12. Early Sunday morning ride with Flippa and the Nerd.
  13. Congrats Vetties, pics of the bike on the Couch!
  14. Chilled ride with the Nerd and his mate this morning!
  15. Nice, here's wishing you many happy miles! My advice to anyone starting out on SS, ride over the top, not to the top... Enjoy it!
  16. The Ritchey is a really nice bike...
  17. I'm sure you miss that bike...?
  18. Try www.tools4wood.co.za
  19. Not sure what gap you're referring to? There's a slight thickness difference, which is casting a shadow, not a gap. They asked that it's not too "finished". The sample I was asked to replicate: Finished goods:
  20. I spent some time this weekend making "rustic wood" placemats, need to do 125 of them for a wedding, so far have 70 done, only 55 to go.
  21. Nice ride this morning, thanks to all involved in organizing! The grassy sections hurt on a rigid, but hey, my choice! Seems like someone flipped the Winter switch!
  22. You remembered, I have not forgotten...
  23. But I'm not scared... was a little worried about your threats out on the road the last time we spoke, but nothing came of them... [emoji12]
  24. I'll train with you!
