  1. Entered, holding thumbs!
  2. Using 3w LED globes, though they generate a bit of heat, it's far less than Halogen downlighters. Have had a test lamp hanging in my kitchen at home for a month now and not had issues with heat or the wood getting hot. I'd not try it with halogen's though.
  3. Lamps finally installed!

  5. So, my information about the timber was wrong, the guy selling it is in Ramsgate, but the timber is in Henley-on-Klip, any Joburg peeps who may be interested, I can PM you the sellers number.
  6. Will do!
  7. Any of you guys in KZN interested in some Yellowood, I have a guy in Ramsgate who has some planks he wants to sell: Outeniqua yellow wood (podocarpus) virgin off the saw 1976 3500x300x40. ..2off 3700x300x40. ...2off 3700x230x40. ...2off 3500x230x28. ...1off 3700x200x28. ...1off 4000x310x28.....1off 4000x230x38. ...1off Edit: added photo
  8. Took the boys for a ride on their "step up" bikes. The little guy has stepped up to his brothers 24" Frog bike, the big guy got a 26" built from bits hanging in the garage (ok, mom's bike was scavenged") and a small frame from Hubber Nellie[emoji1303] Both bikes a little big, but before you know it they're looking for upgrades again.
  9. Quickly banged together a "disposable" tray for a platter that we had to take to a Halloween party. Couple of flooring scraps and a flame thrower, quite fun to see how the wood burns!
  10. I'm tending to agree with you. It's a nice piece of timber, now to decide what to do with it.
  11. Has been planed, color stays the same.
  12. Any ideas what wood this is? I'm thinking American Walnut, but the knots are throwing me a little. It was a dunnage block between bundles of Meranti delivered today.
  13. Rode the Henry loop on Saturday, had to "klap 'n toon" over the rocks, going to be a challenge to "clear" that whole section!
  14. Thaba yesterday, with some like minded fella's...!
  15. Yup, it's based on a 2013 690 Duke, can read all about it here: http://www.bikeexif.com/custom-ktm-690-duke
  16. That would be a great base to build something like this: How much does he want for it...?
  17. Cheeky bird stole the policeman!
  18. Cut and drilled a few dunnage blocks for hanging lamps I'm making for our conference centre/bar at work.
  19. I rode at Rietvlei today, haven't been there for some time. Some nice new additions, though I think they could be challenging when it does eventually rain. The old trails have become quite eroded, so line choice is critical!
  20. Had I known you were looking for an appy, I may have applied...
  21. Had a look at your ad, may I suggest putting a few more photos up, not just the rear hub and tensioner? Also, as it's not a SS specific frame, maybe consider putting gears on it and selling it as a geared bike.
  22. These tops were delivered today for the bar counter in our new conference centre, nice slabs of wood.
