  1. Awesome! Will do. While you're in the man shed just check that other mystical things that have never been seen aren't lurking in there... you know like bigfoot, a unicorn, Flight M370, Lost city of Atlantis, the Amber Room, another DHF 2.5 29'r, that kind of thing.
  2. So... 2.1 Ground control with the control casing it is then. Fast, light and looks good with lycra.
  3. Go stand in the corner and think about what you've done.
  4. I bought the MM... and then when i turned up to collect from the shop. "oh no" sorry not in stock. Then called a few more places / visited some sites and nada. I've been looking for a DHF 29 2.5 and literally phoned every shop in CT and beyond. Then called the distributors who basically just laughed at me. So boom, boom butcher it is.
  5. Would a 2.3 dhf minion sit well on a 30mm internal as I can’t find a 2.5 anywhere in 29’r but have found the skinnier one for R500.
  6. So that Mattoc can go to 140mm in 29'r mode? I was trying to find out but could only see it at 120mm. Where did you pick it up from? I'm keen to replace the Pike with one but couldn't get a firm answer about travel adjustment. Looks super nice.
  7. Talking of Minion SS, CRC have them on sale from R330. Anyone doing an order as I'd take 2 and need some blue death grips as well. Maybe some spare front rubber and a DHR for Ezel. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/za/en/maxxis-minion-ss-mtb-tyre-exo-tr/rp-prod144796
  8. I was also keen on one but the newer version is angled more towards wetter / soft / loamy trails so not sure how it'd go. Good news is that it comes in big sizes for big wheels with grid and gripton.
  9. The 29'rs only come in 2.3 but they are about R600 or so. Bargain price for an awesome tyre. Was kinda keen on checking the big boy butcher but it seems to be time for Mary!

First crash of the season was due to an automatic braking system sensor not being turned off on the lead commissars car. Riders got to close it braked and pile up. A few went down, Cav landed on the shoulder that he damaged in that 'Sagan sprint' in last years TdF. This one was hitting a pot hole. ""It was very likely a pothole that hit his back wheel," said Dimension Data director Rolf Aldag. "There's a lot of holes in the riding line, he probably hit one of those and at 60kph, it never ends really good. On the TT bike, you're down low with the load on the front, so if you go down, you go on your head so of course that's not too cool."

  13. While were talking brakes... Quite a good group test. https://www.vitalmtb.com/features/Vital-MTB-Face-Off-The-Best-DH-Brakes,2152
  14. Good work, would have liked to see them nudge up to the 30% mark donated but will buy a set for sure so they keep on doing good.
  15. That is gold... but anyone can see that those socks are black panthers hiding in a coal yard on a moonless night. Totally on point for the WOKE masses and reflects the most successful non Caucasian superhero movie that is breaking stereotypes across the genre. TBH the new sock craze is the modern equivalent of that garish waistcoats that you'd wear with your dinner jacket. Just trying to show how 'crazy' you really are.
  16. So the hunt was worth it in the end. Congrats! When are you going to try to better your time at Paarl? Give updates when you do you'd better smash it.
  17. That down tube has a strong wiff of ebike about it.
  18. Hell yeah!
  19. Fixed it for you...
  20. Sweeeeet! Such a great ride. Nice looking spec. Let's see a build list. Congrat's and many happy km's of shredding.
  21. Awesome! Those speed links are my nemesis!
  22. Certain peeps know I have been umming and ahhhing about a new frame and bouncing about the options like a fat kid in cake shop. Don't worry. That has come to an end. Sure there were more fancy options, carbon options, more complicated linkages, longer travel, 'super bike' frames for the same money but you know what this struck me when I first saw it. I love an alu frame, it's got one baring to replace, is super capable, not a bad review anywhere and looks like it's a ton of grin inducing fun. The Orange Stage 5 29'r with a fat Fox... and on valentines day I've got a lot of love for this.
  23. Just some advice. What ball park figure would a 2016 Spitty that is in really good condition with a CC DB (recently serviced) be worth locally? I know it's down to what the buyer will take but... hunting a frame for a friend and seen one for around R9k
  24. Firesale??? All stock must go at crazy prices?
