  1. It's actually on my 27.5 and it's just super weird at super odd times. I'm running them at about 22psi odd so it might be worth dropping them and seeing the out come. Cheers for the pointer (and for using real measurements like PSI not this Bar thing. That is a place find a refreshing ale not something in your tyres).
  2. So, has anyone been running a 2.4 Onza Citius on the front and just have it sketch out at moments you just wouldn't expect any tyre to? I've had it happen on 2 rides now on 2 different rims (21mm inner and now one with a 30mm inner). It's odd, they just slip out at the oddest times. Not when you're pushing hard but at time like taking a bit of a wrong line on a straight-ish trial in Conties and going a little off the track and suddenly it's drift time (on the way down to the tunnel) and then on then today just before little right hand turn after super tubes (at conties) that cuts into that bowl before the climb out and also on the routes by the dam... ice skating. The Enduro line. Perfect. Tree charge. No worries. DH track. All good. I've found them pretty fast really despite thinking they would be slow and clocked some new best times on sections but this has me scratching my head a bit.
  3. https://www.pinned.co.za have also got some great prices at the moment.
  4. I've got a 200 knocking about if you want it. Not sure it'll fit but get a hammer and bend it a bit!
  5. Still laugh about the last time I took my bike to a local Mowbray LBS and got quizzed by the ex-pro why I needed a 200+ rotor and it was 180 only in their store as it was too hard to adjust the brakes to fit.
  6. New Transition Sentinel.... looking like a longer travel beast. 150mm out back and 160 / 170 up front(?) PB photographer Colin Meagher captured some spy shots of Transition's new Sentinel 29er trail bike at the NAEC enduro at Silver Mountain in Kellogg, Idaho. The Sentinel has an all-aluminum chassis that looks pretty slack in the steering department as 29ers go, and taking some ballpark measurements from the photos, the effective seat tube angle appears to be quite steep. "Effective" is the word, because the seat tube makes an S-turn to capture the rocker link pivot and to provide wheel clearance for the conventional Horst-Link four-bar suspension That S-turn suggests that Transition has given the new Sentinel a generous amount of wheel travel (I'm guessing 150 millimeters). Speculation aside, the bike is obviously in the late production stages, so all will be revealed soon enough. With nearly every brand pushing big wheels at the moment, the Sentinel's appearance should not be a surprise, but for Transition fans, it may be exactly what the doctor ordered. http://reviews.mtbr.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Transition-Sentinel-non-driveside.jpg
  7. Looking at that one for too long make me feel sea sick.
  8. Double drop... GX and XT. I know 11 speed is so yesterday but it'll have to do for the moment.
  9. I've not had any issues yet as most of the trails around here seem to dry out pretty quick. and just leave puddles. Got a little slippy on some early damp morning rocks and roots the other day and as a bit 'interesting'. Droo gave the Aggressor a thumbs up and at about R550 it's a bargain.
  10. jeez... not surprised! Now for the GX eagle upgrade!
  11. Will like to know some feedback as I'm looking to slap one on to replace the Slaughter for the winter but don't know much about it.
  12. Very nice. Made me feel a little gutted I'm looking around for an 11sp GX Groupset... humm. Maybe I'll have to wait for the Eagle version.
  13. Well if CWC doesn't put the NX groupo back on sale I'm putting half the coin I carved out for that into the draw! Gotta be in it to win it.
  14. https://www.santacruzbicycles.com/en-ZA All the bikes... all the specs... in the 'specs' part of each model there is a list of the normal parts on the left and column for 'customisation' where all the ENVE carbon sits. I'm guessing that everything on the left column is standard build.
  15. Money in the bank. Don't forget to let me know where my 3mm of new trail that I've funded is I'd like to stop by (on my new nomad), cut a ribbon and welcome the masses to enjoy.
  16. Awesome initiative. Lets hope a lot of people are reaching for their credit cards... obviously I'm about to buy the winning ticket but it's all for a good cause!
  17. For some reason I thought this was a pretty sedate family ramble type trail. Rode it the other week from my crib to Rhodes, up n' over to Constantia and had to turn around and ride back home in the other direction. Jeez, a couple of those climbs are tough... especially the Muur actually in K/bosch. Wasn't expecting that at all. Couple of super fun sections near the end and a great asset to the local trail network. Hammer that a few times a week and you'll get nice and strong.
  18. A very happy husband!
  19. Actually those costs look pretty good! Just a Q... if you took the self drive / self tent / self Doona / self bunks / self couch option I'm guessing you'd miss the final descent down the Sani Pass (unless you wanted to turn around and climb back up to your car at the base camp to then drive back down). No options for your own tent and being driven in / out? My tent is a regular palace!
  20. Looks awesome... time to find out the cost!
  21. 50% off. Now you've got to be a happy man with that!
  22. It's brilliant. I've got a pike on my 29r and the mattoc takes it apart on most things. The Iva / irt upgrades are cheap and supposedly great. I've just got the Iva / tokens and want to see what that does when I install next week. If they made a 29 version I'd be selling the pike. No question. Local support is there if a bit slow but Stoke know their way about them and know a few tricks especially with changing up the factory oil levels. Had it on a hard tail before this Commencal and it just hauled through everything so much so I didn't even bother to choose different lines from my DS.
  23. Gives me something to rest my head on on those steep climbs. Good to see you today and hope the trail build went well. I was thinking more about that road gap... do it! You'd get a great view from the picnic table of people trying to land it and make the turn!
  24. Still invite only? Would love a chance of wrecking my body and bike there!
