  1. Currently my experience of this service has been nothing but shocking from the start. I'll post a full review when they decide whether or not they have actually lost my brand new Revelation some where between landing it in Jozi and not sending to to Cape Town with my other item (it was a package of 2 things).
  2. This from a fellow hubber because I'm fed up with *** racks and because I'm a grown up who should know better by now.
  3. With the CWC sale happening (again) today I'll just book my pre-boast spot here for now and come fill it in later depending on what my credit card says.
  4. Spotted! I checked the UK site and there wasn't anything there. Jeez, they look like a bundle of fun. Now, wonder if there will be rush of older Trance sales.
  5. Wow, those trances look great. Would like to know pricing and if they are all spec'd with Pikes.
  6. All I got was a fat bill at the Post Office and it was touch and go as to if I was just going to walk away and save some money. The only thing I got was the offer of sending the whole package to somewhere at my expense for 6 months to dispute which really didn't seem that concrete or appealing. Can i at least get a refund on the inspection charge as that wasn't exactly all it should have been.
  7. So here is my issue with customs. I check on this and saw that there was no duty on tyre and no shop in SA stocked the tubeless road tyres I needed so I bought oversea. The package arrived and I got slapped with VAT, Duty, Handling and more that pretty much doubled the actual price of the tyres. When I asked if I could appeal they said I had to send back the whole package and it would take 6 months. That was obviously never going to happen. In addition to this the person who had opened the package had marked them down as car tyres despite the invoice clearly saying they were bike tyres. I know it's a big job but there doesn't seem to be that much consistency or come back.
  8. Any more info? Price? Road or dirt? Website?
  9. Wonder if the would work on a pike.... Not that'd do that kind of thing. Ever. Much. At all.
  10. Now that is an awesome vid' and a great looking bike! Not sure what that is going to cost but it looks like a winner and more than capable. Show you don't need to get into an arms race about the length of your suspension and you shouldn't feel inadequate if you're not in the 160 club and only pack 140 / 5".
  11. A good read. http://cyclingtips.com/2016/07/how-mark-cavendish-got-his-tour-de-france-mojo-back/
  12. Happens all the time (not the naming and shaming part). Guy was selling a Garmin last week for R1200 or so, Txt'd and he said 'had an offer of R1600 if you can beat it then it's yours', I said 'thanks but no thanks, you're just going to go ask to the other 2 to up the price if I do anyway'. I guess negotiable doesn't always mean down in price!
  13. Reckon he wants to take tomorrow's stage and really freak all the other contenders out.
  14. Another factor is that the spirit stages up until now have been characterised by the fact that no one has managed to get a full bore sprint train running and working 100% well in the last 2kms. This has meant that Cav' has been able to duck and dive in the chaos after being dropped off by Renshaw etc and freelance his way to the line. The run it to the Champs' is a very different scenario, the big open boulevards will be a massive battle between the big trains to get the first 4 wheels into the final corner. As good as they have been I don't think DD have got the fire power left (esp' with Renshaw gone) to mix it with Lotto, Ettix and the other players. On balance, Cav' isn't going to be able to freelance his way to win that stage.
  15. Fair play. He's taken 4 stages, the mountain coming up are going to nothing for his tilt at Gold and knowing his desire to win in Paris it can't have been an easy decision. Cav' is a rider that respects races and their history but this is he last chance to fill that one hole in his record. His year has been sterling so far and especially for Team DD. He's taken a World Champ', some overall stage races, silenced the people who had buried him last year, show Dougie Ryder to be very shrewd about running his team, killed it in TDF, worn the Yellow Jersey, worn the Green Jersey and now head's to Rio. Where are the other contenders for the Olympic Track medals? Fine tuning, not riding up the Alps and not done 16 hard days of a grand tour. Ask most riders if they are going to quit then they say 'nope', it's a way of avoiding the same Q's and speculation from the press, twitter and the rest of the spotlight. Plus he's much heavier due to track training and hasn't had the warm weather training sitting in Manchester velodrome. He needs to manage his recovery so he can go for gold and still have enough in the tank to swing for the World Champs in Dohar... That's a decent years work! Whether you like him or not the guy is champion, always speaks well about the team and his team mates, carries bottles on dom' duty etc. He's taken *** for the last couple of years and shown the naysayer his quality again this year. So a few more people trying to write him off for knee jerk reasons aren't going to do much apart from show themselves up.
  16. Wha, who, where are those? Good looking hoops.
  17. So how does it work if you buy something from eBay and it's second hand? What do you do about the certified value or must you lethe person to send a 'receipt' with the package?
  18. Out of the UK (well Italy if we're being specific), it's a late b'day pressie from my bro'. There are actually a lot of places that have them at very good prices just google and have a look. Mine was from Lord Gun and I had a nice online £25 voucher from them to use as well which made is very decent.
  19. New GPS replace my current one. Feature packed and all in with HRM, Sensors etc for R2000. Nice.
  20. Nice, short chain stays though @ 434!
  21. Was very, very tempted... but some of the deep marks on the crown, the lowers and hectic rub on the inner lowers made you think a very big 'huh??' Will ride the rev' and keep eyes peeled for a pike further down the line.
  22. Sorry was a one off deal. Had a choice between a fairly battered up 140 Pike that I couldn't check the internals for around 8K or a brand new 140 Revelation for sub R5K... Didt fancy the gamble and the difference is going fund the last thing: wheels.
  23. #FridayFun So the new friend for my Bandit 29'r is a new shiny Revelation RCT3 140mm... yeah I get it's white and the Transition is black on black with a hint of red but there was only 1 and it was a steal so can't exactly complain too much about upsetting my noir only colour scheme.
  24. #silverlinings So I had thought I'd picked up a Intense Tracer 2 but that didn't eventuate as someone else profited from my delay. So reasonably heart broken I kicked the can about today and had a look here and there not actually expecting to find anything.... an over priced Trance here, a random Mongoose being touted as an Enduro killer there... one very badly flogged Orange 5 else where. Long story short... I had make-up-purchase-sex with a Transition Bandit 29. Time for some thing different. not a 650b, not a 160 travel up front. Rather a Wagon wheeled trail romper with 140 up front, big hoops (hell why not!) and Kash' coated shock with a solid distance at the back for the fun. Can't wait to get this beauty built up. Very excited. Any suggestions on 140 forks welcome!
  25. All this naysaying... I like the look (though I've never owned a polo shirt in my life. Kinda looked like a banker on a casual day), so I'm going to throw some coin down. Baggies for sure and might mix it up the the trail polo in the bundle as well. I kickstarted the limits power meters (look how good that's been so far!) and you boys are doing better than them in my eyes.
