  1. Missed that part in initial reading. Shame the old hub got broken, would loved to have seen the discussions in question that kicked this off.
  2. Their sales are falling this year site badly... but don't worry, they'll go up!
  3. 100%, I was meaning the actual material as it's tough, flexible and 'natural' feeling with awesome 4 way stretch. Stick you your vision, it's a goodie.
  4. Baggies look good. Well done fellas, hope you make a success of it and make some different riding gear! Looks like yove down you research but try to get some of the checkered shorts from Intrepid Apparel in the UK, really good material and attention to detail is awesome.
  5. "my daily commute over one of the 7 natural wonders of the world is a bit average" - Gold Mezzo, pure gold!
  6. Well let's get back to the video rather than the usual infighting! I thought it this series was going to be a bit lame (like how interesting can you make 1 guy trying to go down 1 section over and over again) but in fact it's awesome. Ollie was working the crowd but it fitted in. Well done for thinking a bit differently, giving some thing local to watch and for showing some different trails we may not have visited. I'd like to see a roadie one with the Prices climb in Constantia with some on screen power and heat rate data. Not that I'm a data nerd but my heart tries to leave my body each time I bury the pin up there, it'd be good to see what 'fit' is!
  7. Not exactly bought but was given by a fellow hubber out of the blue off a casual post on saddle bags. Unused and the sentiment is way more than the actual ability to carry a bomb or two, GPS and leavers on my evo. The legend wouldn't take cash for it, would hardly take the postage and said it was all 'in the spirit of The Hub'! Even more respect as he rolled with the old skool site name not this new, fancy 'The Bike Hub' nonsense.
  8. Bet vid is ages! Nice to see not every bike vid is slo-mo and close ups of bits of dirt flying. Good they're upholding the rule in section 2: bike on the roof must be worth more than the car they are on. Ford Sierra what a sh*t wagon.
  9. Was a good ride. For some reason the whole build up and the expo felt so much more commercialised and less about the rider. From the lottery only entry to the compulsory and badly designed medical questionnaire through to the 'odd' / very officiaous expo and the endless spam SMS' (the one at 4:20am on Sunday was a beauty of timing) I felt I was a commodity to be sold to rather than a rider like it's been for the last 5 I've done. I wouldn't mind if what I was being sold was interesting for me! To be honest I felt like I was a option to be sold in a data sheet to various interested parties while the experience for the event wasn't upped at all. Thankfully the crowd, the riders and the day were exceptional.
  10. I think it also gives a decent idea of market value. Yup, you don't know how much something was haggled down by but it's a good start point for both buyers and sellers. There are more than a few ad's that keep being reposted almost daily that could take note of what their product is likely to go for / have gone for. If it's marked sold then, it's not for sale, don't click on it and you can't get annoyed.
  11. I can see the 'nearly new' angle. The Evo I bought of a guy was second hand. It was used, but if it has been ridden more than 50kms then I'd be surprised. If you gave it a wipe down and put it in a shop you wouldn't notice the difference from a new one. That's nearly / virtually new to me. My personal fav' is putting a massive 'BARGAIN' in the title of the ad. Most of the time, it's not.
  12. That's got to be one of the funniest videos I've seen in ages. Gold.
  13. Did I miss anything?
  14. So where is the factory been relocated to?
  15. Jeez guys... I've had enough of all this doping talk, pro's and former pros. I'm off to The Gear Change for a coffee.
  16. I think with this many replies and this subject matter it's time to turn the clock back and get ready for a for a good, honest, old fashioned, friday hub special... come on, those pitch forks and lanterns have been hiding away for far too long. http://coolerinsights.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/angry-mob.jpeg
  17. And David Millar cam out yesterday to say "This is the greatest ever generation of Grand Tour riders” I get he's an advocate for anti doping but he's not exactly the cheers squad that I'd want giving me props.
  18. That has to be one of the worst translated press releases ever... Did some one use google translate and hope for the best! Love the DE kit and glad the old Europcar didn't fold. Good luck for 2016!
  19. Dear Dopers: I don't care about your excuses, I don't care about 'the sorrys'. I care about the money you stole, the careers that were denied and derailed, the riders who questioned them selves, the truth that was warped and the large part of belief in a great sport that you have a eroded If you think 'I'm sorry' fixes any part of that then you are deluded... you are a self involved thief. If you are sorry then shop your dealer, spill the beans and work tirelessly every day god gives to pull the sport out of that hole that you single handily push it a little deeper into. You are a confirmed cheat and have betrayed all those who supported you why should you shrug and walk away.
  20. Doesn't look that special but I think it'll grow on me. Like the white / neon green and the big Q on the back makes it stand out when riding (and that's mostly the position we're all going too be seeing on screen. IS a bit boring from the front but they have a fair few logos to show off there. Looks like they haven't got a kit sponsor onboard so I wonder who they using, side panel venting look a bit like the Cuore mesh material but the zipper isn't right. Good to see Nederburg got the ass!
