  1. Just replaced the TCR. After a super compact frame this looks massive but I'm on the money on the size charts and the top tube is actual shorter so will have to adjust to the look. Goes to show that bargains can be had and gumtree isn't just the realm of scammers and criminals. There are also euro's who are leaving tomorrow just trying to sell their 2014 evo's! 1st job tomorrow, peal off all the warning stickers, wash & lube, swap wheels and first ride!
  2. On top of that Cav has to actually qualify for the track team against some very, very good track specialists in the UK set up. Also the Madison event is no more in the Olympics so he's kind of left with the Omnium to tick one of the last things off his palmares.
  3. True, reckon they'll take 2 - 3 to the tour but if they are stepping up to WT level then there is a lot of racing from the Tour Down Under / San Luis all the way through to the autumn classics. That squad is going to get stretched and hammered nicely next year. Obviously the squad is going to be built around Cav for TdF but I wonder who is going to be the leaders for Giro and Vuelta. I would have thought it would have been MainCheese but he's gone. Fraile or someone else yet to sign?
  4. Ciolek, Goss and Stauff are all set to leave at the end of this season. All largely anonymous this year.
  5. That does deserve to have it's own thread and a little happy dance. Vino shouldn't be anywhere near cycling.
  6. Kittel for Etixx... wow, that's a f-you and a mind game to the manx man. Now they have Cav's bogey man as well as the very talented Gaviria. Wonder what that means for Trentin as well? Lidl is a big coin bringer and hopefully it'll make their awesome cycling sales get better and online so we can all get in on it!
  7. It seems as more the teams get into the upper levels they have to adapt to be able to perform, compete and most importantly win. Don't forget that is the key for any team and the ROI for any sponsor and so team survival. Look at Sky, that is supposed to be a british team and they have a core of english riders and pull through young talent from the feeder programs but most of the team is international and getting more so. OGE was 'Australia's Team' and the same thing is there. To be honest the teams that have kept very 'local' have struggled to get to the constant performance levels talent and expereince that is needed to be a top tier team, French and Spanish in particular. If the aim of the team is to win AND develop riders (who will jump ship to further their career) then you need mentors, winners, sponsors, exposure, hype and access to international events and racing. In some way the development angle has already been a success as it's taken LM off to a world tour team who will have him as a protected GC rider. What they have done it a short time has been phenomenal.
  8. Froome has his 'staring at stems' site and the ever stylish Bernie Eisel has something for the ladies.... http://fuckyeahbernie.tumblr.com
  9. Better get him and Renshaw a pro-biotics sponsor as well if he's coming out here! Can't have the show pony going down with dodgy guts at the 1st training camp!
  10. Naysayers need to actually look at the fact he is a proven winner, one of the top 3 sprinters in the world, has pulled a very decent set of results this season. He is the one sprinter that everyone interviews as to why he hasn't won almost every race he enters exactly because he is so prolific. He's actually taken a gamble on the team as well don't forget. Not World Tour, no proven train, not guarenteed invites to races that he's won before and to those he wins at least a stage in each time he enters. It takes at least 6 months to get a sprint train anywhere near speed. Luckily he has a few team mates around from HTC, SKY and others so don't throw your toys out of the cot if he doesn't nail MSR at first go with the new team... even if they get an entry. Come on, rather than kick the ground say what a load of *** let see it as a big thing for the team, it's a big thing for the Qhubeka movement as he's a box office personality and there will be more wins this year than last. And if that isn't enough then we could always carry on with the wonder of Goss, Farrar, and a good couple of others that haven't exactly lived up to the pay cheques and hype.
  11. Now that's a great way to spend a few days! All time riding over there as well as some of the warmest welcomes on on the globe.
  12. Just about to start on Narcos. All reports seem good.
  13. That is going to make a lot of people very happy. Nicely done and awesome bikes.
  14. yup... he got caught. So, how many years was he signed up for?
  15. Hasn't the new TCR got a pretty great when set as standard now? All the press releases were bugging up the carbon rims the self tightening lacing thing. Plus they are nice and wide and the heat resistance is something crazy.

  18. A fast little test for the season opener!
  19. There might be a new addition to the game here (and aus).. Watch this space!
  20. Maybe it's just a ploy to get everyone to renew their lapsed PPA memberships.
  21. Who did they end up employing for the new CEO or the Trust position? http://www.cycletour.co.za/2015/05/10/cape-town-cycle-tour-trust-group-ceo-position-available/
  22. Don't want to be negative but this change seems to be setting up last years mess to turn into this years best practice c*ckup.

    Cricket......

Might have to dig out my pommy passport.... thank god it's not as bad as Newlands. I was doing laps from the Maternity ward to the ground in my Aussie shirt and copping it from every human in the mother city. Nurses have a lot of cricketing knowledge and can surprisingly mean.
  25. That TCR is nice... Stuff Aero, I'm not a tri-guy and most of my racing is in a pack!
