  1. Would do but that last giro shows he can't do 3 weeks fights against the new young mountain goats no matter how much heart and belief he has. I would like him to do well in the suisse (he was towing the pack from 600 out until he got swamped in the last frenzy) and then give the classics a full tilt next year.
  2. See one of the Schlek sisters dropped out of the race today, shame, they are not finding form anywhere. My money is on Slagter for an upset if he can maintain consistency. Nice to see cuddles pulling a top 5 finish along side Sagan. He should race classics next year if he doesn't retire.
  3. Is the new all black MTN Qhubeka 2014 kit actually available in SA? Just wondering as I was going to get a jersey for a friend overseas and there wasn't anything in theLBS and the local MTN shop had nothing but blank faces. The official MTN-Q team website shop has 'coming soon' under their kit section. I know you can get it overseas on the Castelli UK site and in Bobs shop.de but I couldn't find anything here. It's well and truly into the season and I can't believe that they've just not got around to releasing it. I imagine that the new kit would be a massive revenue raiser for Qhubeka if they get a donation off it. http://www.bobshop.de/out/pictures/master/product/1/S13018_1.jpg
  4. I see that OGE are targeting Wilco K for next year and in the constant rumour mill of Sky, Wiggins apparently phoned White directly and had a chat about next year. Interesting to see what OGE are planning as they have the Yates brothers who are deffo GC contender is developed right, K-man is quite young and I guess they'll be looking for a mentor with experience leading teams for GCs. Always wondered if Cadel would see out one final season there with a classic focus.
  5. Truthfully I watched the video a couple of times and just didn't really get it, it looked like a shock and acted like a shock. People went up and people went down. Then I got paranoid that the shock I've got just isn't good enough and I never noticed... FOMO. I just need to know 4 things: does it work, is it any good, do I need a physics degree to set it up and can 'Droo service it.
  6. Wilco is looking in great shape after the giro and isn't afraid of a dig rather than defend a podium spot. Good to see Impey representing as well.
  7. Crown Cycles, Crown Cycles have a sale on and they have some RRon's and Ralph's on special as well. I left one set of NNic's if anyone wants
  8. Finally a useful fathers day present coming my way this sunday and @ R299 a pop that leaves coin for some useless socks or soap on a rope. http://bikemarkt-images.mtb-news.net/0/2/3/6/6/2/_/large_IMG_2421Kopie.JPG.jpg
  9. that is a nasty, nasty image... Just naaaaasty.
  10. 100%. I just want one because it's seems like different feeling, a different ride and a different challenge. To mix it up. Bored is right. I surfed every day on a std 3 fin thruster and recently I was getting frustrated and bored, I started surfing less and less. One day picked up a 6ft modern single fin for a laugh and that changed my surfing completely. It also got me pumped again. I've got 9 boards in the shed and only 2 are 'std' 3 fin thruster set ups, the rest are single fins, thrusters, a longboard, bonzers etc. All designs that were passed over and some that were put down as a fad. Yup the big boys are jumping on the fat wagon because there is a market for it now and the ground swell has been building so it must make financial sense. Could be a phase but so what if it's fun, it's still fun and if you keep riding it and enjoying it then it's not a phase or a fad. It's your bike.
  11. I'm so keen to try one out. Just for fun on trails n stuff. I posted this on the other Fat bike thread so sorry if you've seen it. It's a great vid' as it's fat fun in the forest rather than sand, snow etc and looks like a blast. Also want a bottle cage like that. And a ride-in brewery.
  12. No way... I wonder if the whole new Froome book and it's release is also part of the grand plan to lure everyone into believing that Froome and Twiggy don't like each other. Master manipulation from a machiavellian genius only to launch a united Sky team to confuse all the contenders for this years TdF!
  13. You could see them missing there huh? Thanks again!
  14. Why not 12-18 second hand? Then you're more likely to get the spec you want. Questions are: - What are you looking to do with it? XC, XC race, trail, all mountain, #enduro, stage race, downhill, everything? - Do you need a 29'r / 650b or would a 26'r do? - Where do you ride? - Soft tail or hard tail? Once you've nailed that down then you can start looking for the right bike...
  15. Just seems to be an opportunity for the media to add to the crumbling public perception of Sky at the moment coming after the 'legal', but not exactly savoury, tramadol episode.
  16. That just reminded me of when Wiggins taking that bunch sprint in Romandie back in 2012. Would be funny. TT/ summit and then knock off a quick gallop for the line.
  17. Bwaaahhhh... totally forgot about this blog. Thanks for reminding me. http://chrisfroomelookingatstems.tumblr.com
  18. Nice to see Yates come in 8th for OGE. He's doing well this season for a 1st year professional. Funny, Team Sky used to be the place to be for so many of the UK's up and coming riders to hone skills and develop. Now it seems to be the place to avoid or just be used as wattage machines for the TdF and little else. The classic were better but by no means great, the Giro was leaderless and rudderless. Rumours are that Thomas is is out next year, EBH is going and Stannard and Kennaugh have talent to burn. You can't imagine them ever getting the support or development to really become leaders and champions in a team where the management has got to a state where the principles leader trade positions publicly via book releases and tv interviews with competitor stations rather than over a beer or locked in a room with gloves until they sort it out.
  19. Wasn't Walsh the ghost writer for Froome's new book? Thought I heard that some where.
  20. Not sure what Dave B is playing at. He should be ruling Sky with an iron fist especially since he's not sharing the day job with UK cycling. Every coach knows that you should be able to run the team and not have the team run you... Wiggins gave his interview to the BBC. If that's not a big F-you to Sky the broadcaster, then I'm not sure what is.
  21. Fark, that boy needs a better set of salutes. He's had a few now and each one is a cringe worthy as the last. Maybe Sagan can give a few tips... or Simioni could be drafted in. Deffo a 'marginal gain' to be had there. http://cdn.media.cyclingnews.com/2010/04/30/1/simeoni_app2001092700149_600.jpg
  22. Wilco is on fire! Up there all the time at the Giro (and being my dark horse in the tipping comp!) and now keeping pace at the Criterium. Is he missing the TdF and riding the Vuelta?
  23. Ex-zakary!
  24. https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/92391-giant-trance-x2/ Giant Trance. 2011. Very nice. Not sure what the BIN price would be but this exact ride in VGC went for R4500 the other week on Gumtree.... That is nuts amount of big smiles and fun for no coin!
  25. But is it #Enduro enough??
