  1. Agreed - it would be nice if Garmin became a partner but 5000 points for doing + 100km race (Dischem / Argus) and 3000 for a sub 100km race (94.7) outweighs the benefits of individual training sessions

    Argus D group?

Hi Boys, i am afraid that i am going to have to sit this one out. I went down in the AL bunch at Macsteel yesterday. Left clavicle is fractured (collar bone). I cant begin to tell you how dissapointed i am - it was quite an emotional few hours when it dawned on me that i wont be doing the Argus this year - just when i was feeling stronger than i ever have before. Will be routing for this incredible D bunch all the way. its starting to look pretty serious and i suspect that you will be passing the main C bunch and B bunch before the finish line. Ride fast and safe - praying for great weather!! Do it boys!!!!
  5. Unfortunately i was one of those that went down at the 45km mark. The different level of the lhs and rhs of the road causing a ridge on the middle line is simple enough to navigate if you see it coming, but when you are 10 riders in on the centre line - its a lottery. it caught 2 of us in AL and then whilst in the ambulance we went back for 2 more guys in later groups that hit the same ridge. not sure what can be done other than red paint and warnings on the road - can't be filled in like a pothole

    Argus D group?

You bet - last year getting there from G group was just a stretch too far. F group managed 2 sub 3 and E group got a bunch over the line. Havent decided what i'll wear yet but will probably be in Cycle Lab kit and on a Cervelo R3 (Black, White, Red) Bring it on
  7. Thats probably it! Last warm up race this weekend - Carnival City Macsteel - Flat and super fast. Yeh Baby
  8. No not yet - when did yours arrive?
  9. Its not going to happen twice though
  10. Youre right Fandacious, i guess it always feels tougher than you think when that's where the front 5 broke away from the rest of the G group last year.
  11. Probably is - but i would have thought that the organisers would cut that out as soon as the alternative was ready. Comming off Boyes Drive down to the coast road is always a bit hairey?
  12. Whatever you say Superman
  13. Not sure if its my imagination or just wishful hoping - but it looks like the 2012 route reverts back to cutting out the big Boyes Drive climb. Can anybody confirm / deny this? http://www.cycletour.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/2012_RouteMap.pdf Check out the profile on the link above - it looks "relatively" flat around Boyes Drive.
  14. I know this topic has probably been done to death - but i need to add my weight to it. CWC you boys (and girls) are awesome. Awesome Products Awesome Price Awesome Delivery Awesome Service Hip Hip Hooray Hip Hip Hooray Hip Hip Hooray
  15. I use super glue and a cable tie for good measure. Tried the double sided tape stuff that comes with it and was lucky not to lose it. Make sure you line it up properly before you glue it though or else this could be the outcome followed by this
  16. Almost, just needs Campy record, a set of Boras and a Cervelo frame - then it would be perfect

Posted Today, 08:00 Wannabe, on 14 February 2012 - 07:53 , said: TNT, whom on the Organising Committee do you contact for complaints / reports about the poor condition of the roads used for the race? It is not for me, but for a buddy of mine who did the race. Did the other riders in the race also think the road surface was bad / full of unfilled holes? Will pm you contact details. Please PM me the contact details too.
  19. Oh come on Racetec - how hard can this be ???? Been hit by the Y2k12 virus?

  22. Ok Guys, just got an answer from Pay Pal - It seems like you can buy seller protection but only for certain transactions. This Seller Protection (if it is applicable to your transaction) is either Full Protection or Partial Protection. Full Protection - Protects you the Seller if (a) Goods don't get to the buyer or (B) the buyer is fraudulent and his payment fails for some reason. This is the one you would need in this instance Partial protection - Only protects if (a) Goods dont get to the buyer, so not helpful in the case of a fraudulent buyer. But heres the catch - Looking at the "Legal Stuff on the PayPal Website" Full Protection can only be obtained if you sell on EBay and ship directly to the address registered on the Buyers PayPal Account and not to his son at some other unregistered address. So in short - you're exposed. Here is the response from PayPal. Thank you for contacting PayPal. Following the Seller Protection Policy is completely voluntary. However, if you choose to engage in transactions not covered by the Seller Protection Policy, you assume the risk associated with the transaction, as well as any potential liability. Not all transactions are eligible for PayPal Seller Protection. If a transaction is eligible for PayPal Seller Protection, you’ll see ‘Eligible’ or ‘Partially eligible’ on your ‘Transaction Details’ page. Here’s how to see if your transaction is eligible for Seller Protection: Go to www.paypal.com and log in to your account. Click ‘History’ near the top of the page. Find the transaction, and then click ‘Details.’ Under Seller Protection see if your transaction is eligible. Note: With ‘Eligible’ transactions, you are fully protected if your buyer doesn’t receive the item you shipped or if an unauthorized payment was made. With ‘Partially eligible’ transactions, you are fully protected if a buyer doesn’t receive the item you shipped. A ‘Partially eligible’ transaction does not protect you against unauthorized payments. If you don’t see ‘Eligible’ or ‘Partially eligible’ on your ‘Transaction Details’ page, the transaction isn’t protected under PayPal Seller Protection. To learn more about PayPal Seller Protection, click ‘Legal Agreements’ at the bottom of any PayPal page, then click ‘User Agreement for PayPal Service.’ Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We value what you have to say, and we know situations like this can be difficult. If you have more questions, visit our Help Center by clicking "Help" in the top right corner of any PayPal page. Add your mobile number to your PayPal account so we can reach you right away if we ever need to verify account activity with you. Simply log in to your PayPal account, click "Profile" near the top of the page and then click "Update" beside "Phone." You can also make and receive payments with your mobile phone when you add it to your PayPal account. After you confirm your number and create a PIN, you'll be able to get money, send money, check your balance, or manage your account from your phone using simple text messages. Sincerely, Amanda PayPal, an eBay Company
  23. Ok Just sent off a message to PayPal - will let you know what i get back. PayPal Question: Hi I have a question about the certainty of payments received. At which point in the process of receiving funds into my PayPal account is it totally secure with no chance of fund reversal? In other words 1. As a seller of goods and receiving payment by PayPal, at which point are funds cleared? 2. Once these funds are cleared under what scenarios could they be automatically be reversed without my authorization? My particular concern is whether or not a fraudulent buyer could manipulate events such that payment is received by the seller, goods are released and then manipulate reversal of the payment in some way. Is this risk possible? Thank you
  24. I agree with all the sentiments but i am still interested in the answer. If there wasnt any of the obvious warning signs - is Paypal safe. My hunch is yes it is if you allow the funds to clear and be confirmed into your own paypal account. I'll do some research and report back.
