The rules are quite specific about riders leaving in advance groups. Does anybody know whether organisers actually do disqualify riders that start in the wrong groups? Should be quite simple to do this check post the event using the timing chip recordings.

Guys, thanks for all the input - unfortunately it looks like Randy and Eldron are correct here. Checked out Underachiever's suggestion but the 725s does not have the auto start selection option in the bike menu. It looks like Polar went backwards with this model unfortunately.

You will have a friend for life if you can tell me how you do that. I agree it is weird that Polar would leave that functionality off a "cycling specific" hrm.

Hi Pauloc - how do you set that up. I havent been able to find anything to activate the auto start on either the watch / the software or the manual.

I have been searching the web to see whether or not my Polar 725S has the autostart fuctionality - can anybody out there help me?

Hi SkyW, If youre not in a super hurry you may want to scan the classifieds on TheHubSA for a week or so - you are likely to get much more for your R8k. I managed to put together R70k of Cervelo kit for around R25k - i know thats not what you are wanting to spend but it gives you an indication of what kind of deals you could get if you are patient. You may also want to drop @MadMikeX a pm (personal message) - he often has a great range of bikes available and they are always pristine. Good luck

At 5am on Wed morning 9 of us start a 5 day cycle tour from Jhb to Durban - 750km through the freestate, over the Drakensberg and ending at the coast on Sunday. Yihaaaaaa!!!! :)
