  1. Big Shout out to the organisers of Tshwane Classic 2018 - 2 years in and it ticks many of the critical road racing boxes like: 1. Cost - with prices going up for road races it was awesome to see this one nice and affordable. 2. Route - the new way out to the freeway was a great improvement - 3. Safety - full road closures is a huge win (only 3 other road races i know do that) 4. Finish - bolting up freedom hill to the finish line nice and tough for those that are still left. 5. Marshalling - top draw ensuring safe and fair racing within each group. In time this could rival the others - thank you Tshwane - what an absolute blast
  2. Looks like results are up
  3. Most of us ride many races every year. The good ones stand out very clearly. Pointing out the differences is the only way that responsible organisers and credible sponsors like ASG and Bestmed can become aware of them and decide whether or not to improve their offering. When riders simply shrug their shoulders and resign themselves to the status quos they dont gives organisers an opportunity to consider changes.
  4. Please post to this forum if you see Racetec results out
  5. Good summary Stig - try and get this to ASG
  6. Agreed - and why persist with those useless medals - does anyone actually keep them???
  7. Yes that really was a special touch!!!
  8. Dissapointed by the organisation too. Marshalls inconsistent in their instructions - from parking to cyclist directions. No coke or energade at the finish - except for a bit of mixadrink that seemed to run out. Race finish up a narrow entrance road!!!! ASG and Bestmed should be careful what they put their names too.
  9. what a great ride - and so glad the bitterly cold weather stayed away
  10. Hi guys, picked up my race number today (AL), but unfortunately can't do the race on saturday. If you know anybody who wants to do the full 3 stages get them to PM me. They can have it for R150.
  11. And you will need to replace it more frequently because it will wear out faster - but it will make you faster because it costs 3 times more
  12. Call the promoters. They released about 20 tickets at the last moment in Jnb which I managed to grab a few of the day before the screening. Cpt may be similar.
  13. It also is a TDF course that doesn't favour the Schlecks strong climbing style. There are fewer large mountain stages and 2 time trials and a prologue an area that the Schlecks are not strong.
  14. Unfortunately both Schlecks have had a poor start to 2012 and Andy is sitting this TDF out with an injury.
  15. So impressed by Jensie - at 40 still an incredible work horse and talented rider. And not afraid to laugh at himself and boost the morale in the team.
  16. Wiggo has to be the form favorite at the moment. It also must be a route that suits his time trial strength with 2 time trials and a prologue. Fewer large mountain stages than usual will also play into his TT strengths not that he has a problem hanging in there with the best climbers though.
  17. What an awesome documentary detailing the Schleck's attempt at TDF victory in 2011. Such a pity it was only on for 1 night. Sell out crowd at Vodaworld.

    Argus D group?

Hey D Group - It looks like the weather refused to play along and the best that could be achieved was 3:01. I noticed the C's got 19 people over the line sub 3. Well done on the excellent efforts - these are great times considering the heat and wind. I was listening to Oom Jappie Malan who rode another Argus at the age of 92. Made me realize that I have another 50 shots at a sub 3. Some of you probably have a few more than 50 Roll on 2013 - next time you're ours

    Argus D group?

Hi Boys, you should be coming in right now - let me know asap please - suspense is killing me.
  24. This is the way marketing works. Pro teams get paid to use certain bike frames, cycling kit and energy products, which helps them build a budget to attract the best riders etc.. Vitality is similar but they do it to offer services for their members. (and profits for their shareholders) It would not surprise me if Polar pays Vitality an annual marking fee to be their "preferred" hrm. Their Discovery Credit card is probably the best rewards program out there. Works for me and works for them. Thats called a win win.
