Guys. Let me correct a few things. The hub was changed for free yes, but I did pay labor. When we initially discussed the hub replacement I had 2 options. Send the wheel to CPT and wait two weeks for a sunringle replacement, or the LBS would install a new xt hub and it would take 2 days. I settled for a new xt hub, 2 days and R150 labor. SO finally after 5 days when the wheel was fixed LBS made some calculations and said I must pay R450! I was wtf???? I refused and said I would only pay R150 as agreed! And I did. Best thing when I bought the bike I managed to get 3 services included. 2 minor services that only includes some tweaking, washing and lubrication. The major service was gonna be bearings and greasing and brakes. I was thinking of using the services, 1 minor for before 94.7 and then the major for January after my December mud riding. Guess what. LBS closed down! So to hell with services hahahahahaha . I am just gonna have to do them major greasing myself - not a bad thing. B) I AM NOT SAYING it's a *** bike, by no means! It is awesome! I luv it and will get another. :clap: I am saying that the whole sales talk about local LBS blah blah blah means nothing, even if the LBS doesn't close down. I think the local sales guys and LBS can learn something here. I don't mind paying. But I don't like having to struggle with local service either. YES I would rather pay more and bring the bike into SA independently than having to deal with some local LBS idiot. @ cyfermaster - those prices are after paying import duties @ TheHorndog - my point was it's an amazing good quality bike and only had one minor mechanical problem - get it!? @ Gumpole - Yes I would rather pay more than having to deal with local sales bull****! .... to be continued

R 1000 difference here. Personally I think paying the extra R1000 might be worth it. I will gladly pay R1000 more and be independent. At least this way I will know from the start that I don't need to deal with a Local LBS who will probably try and milk me further every time I visit due to some issue on the bike. Paying R 1000 extra and not having the "local service and support from LBS" will hopefully infuse a sense of responsibility on my side knowing that the ball is in my side of the court the whole time. I will make sure a learn to tweak and fix everything myself, get the right tools...

Be Independent! Bring it in yourself, who needs agents anyway?? Unless your little brother is the agent and you want to help him make money. I ride a cube, size M, am 1.75m. Put a setback post with 110 to 120mm stem. I will buy cube again, but will import it myself since the whole buying local with support is a bull**** sales story anyway. Thing is, if ya wanna ride something like cube that is not very popular and well supported locally, then you got to plan ahead and be prepared to provide your own support. The world is getting smaller, so buying a full cube from crc might not be that different from buying it locally. I wouldn't suggest buying one from Saturn though, shipping might take to long!

I am no scientist. More of a electronics guy. I would think from experience that you will need a lot more energy to get the 34C rolling, but once it's built up momentum it'll definitely be harder to stop.

Lighter wheels and a lighter bike in general has amazing advantages when going uphill. I have done numerous test (scientific) to proof this and again and again receive the same results. See link below: Test 1: Why I need a lighter MTB

I know you can pitch a tent at rietvlei dam in PTA, cost something like R60 pp/night. I think there are also some MTB trails, not to sure... anyone??

ipod touch - why play around. It's a awesome piece of gear, so just spoil yourself. Like having a mini ipad- really! wifi connectivity enabling web surfing and skyping, very good quality photo and video, play cool games and most applications from istore. Amazing high resolution touch screen. oh, and it can play mp3's

I also was looking at buying my AMS Pro from CRC earlier this year, but eventually bought it locally for same price. Now I have the support of LBS and negotiated 2 minor services and 1 major including hubs, crank and breaks. Dunno if I will use the services as I prefer working on my bike myself.
