Well done to everyone who finished! I managed a 3:40 after starting in L group at 7:15. I was also a bit annoyed with the entrance from N1 north as I arrived 3 km before the Rand Show off ramp at around 5:45. I guess the que to the offramp was more than 3 km long and yet so many people just skipped the que to go to the front and push in - I just put my friendly race face on and let them be and said to myself they probably over slept and were very late for their start times. - hopefully they will get up earlier next time ???? For some reason I battled a bit with the hills this year - maybe I do better if they are placed in the first half of the route. It was a great morning ride with like minded people ????

I booked 3pm today to go and collect. Look forward to the communion with likeminded people on Sunday. Also nice to see some other people on bikes that suffer a bit more than myself ???? How many people entered? Last time I looked it seemed to be around 12 000??

I entered this event as motivation to get on my bike again and to start riding. I hope it will still happen and that it will be worth it. It will be my 3rd time doing it.

I have the 1 x 11 Rival 1 with Apex shifters combo 42 front and 11 - 42 in the back Love it! When time comes to replace the chainwheel I will definitely put a 44 on it and ... If I ever get to the point of getting a second wheelset then I might consider an XD hub with 10-42 which will complement the setup on the down and straights. Can't fault the setup - with already 3800 km's on it and going smooth and strong.

Would love to do it again.

I had 4 x bad quality Dot's The first 2 that I bought was shipped to me on the 4th Nov 2019. I received 2 x replacements on the 22nd Nov Replaced them with Pathfinders on the 24th Jan All 4 of them was similar and a very poor quality tyre. I sent an email on the 27th Jan to inform Farr about the failures on the replacements and my decision to use other tyres. I received a response here yesterday after posting my experience on this thread.

Yes lucky you, but for me it was strange to encounter such issues after they were recommended on this forum -and I thought there was something really wrong with the way I applied them since no one else reported issues - on the contrary people raved about them. So when matthieup reported very similar quality issues my sanity was restored. I went out this morning for a 40km ride on my normal routes with lots of small glass pieces and every now and then I would hear that dreaded pssst pssst pssst pssst sound of sealant spraying out, but when I look down I saw no signs of any sealant on my frame - just to learn that it was the sound of early morning garden sprayers or the sound of cicades singing and not the sound of Dot's failing

Forgot to mention. I did contact the guys at Farr after the failures on the replacements they sent me and told them what happened and that I decided to try the Pathfinder's and see how they perform compared to the Dot's - but they never replied to my mail - not sure if you guys never read my mail or just didn't bother to reply?
