I know the mother of the guy whose half-brother is married to Greg's sister... Hahahaha! I have been lucky to have run into Greg a couple of times over the years, the first meeting being the fan evening ahead of the 2009 world cup in PMB. Kranswurm will remember that.

Hell, he even managed a podium once after dislocating his shoulder halfway through a run!

I hit something on the road to the station at about 4.30 this morning - think it was a pothole - and wrecked a tyre. Two guys stopped to help, which was cool, as it turned out that the spare was flat. They drove me to a nearby station to get it pumped up. It's nice when random people help out.

Probably the best moment I have ever had at an MTB event was Maritzburg in 2013. I was in the bullring when Greg came in...that place went off. He tried to calm down the One Life loons while there were still rider(s?)* to come. *Think Gee still had to run, but not sure how more riders there were still when Greg got the hot seat. Anyone?

I prefer my biographies in potted form. There is a series of books of obituaries published by the Daily Telegraph. Lovely books to have and dip in to from time to time.
