  1. I used to do a 11km ride to work and back almost daily. Would drive in on Mondays and drive home on Fridays, leave the car there for meetings and ride the rest of the time. Used to shower at the office. I suppose I could still ride to the office, but that would mean getting the bike out of the garage, dragging it into the house, and riding the 2m from the bedroom to the study. I'm too lazy for that! The people at the office thought I was mad at first, but they started to like the idea quickly, asking me lots of questions etc. If you have the opportunity, I would definitely recommend it. Your fitness will improve quickly, and you'll feel great! Not only physically, but mentally. One of my routes used to be along the roads through Bryanston. I love going up the hill faster than all the cars, even though my lungs were dragging in the dirt behind me.
  2. Don't put any ideas in my head! My new build already went so far over budget that I'll be sleeping on the couch for a month!
  3. This is insane! Apparently he's only had the bike for a week before they shot the vid. http://vimeo.com/6200166
  4. Oops, only saw now that it's on Sunday morning. That's not gonna happen for me unfortunately. Guess I'll just have to hit the bike park again.
  5. I thought we're riding tomorrow?
  6. I could maybe be persuaded...
  7. I normally prefer to upgrade when something brakes, but I guess it's a good excuse. Guess the Hope hubs do sound THAT awesome!
  8. A bike has to have a seat! Get yourself a nice stock frame, stay away from that mod BS. Marinobike will build you a steel frame and fork for under $200, shipping from Peru may hurt, but you can get him to do custom geometry. Go for it!
  9. This sounds awesome! Need to make a plan to get there.
  10. Shouldn't you rather lose the triple chainring setup in favour of a 2+bash?
  11. That. Is. AWESOME! I see we have the same idea when it comes to XC bikes.
  12. Need to get a seat post still. The bike is awesome, although I may have to get a smaller frame once they come in. I'll post pics as soon as my workload slows down enough for me to get out from behind my laptop and fetch a seat post.
  13. The best thing about my Candy's is I get to laugh at the SPD boys when they fall over in the mud because they couldn't unclip. I've had 1 particular ride that was so muddy and wet it wrecked a fork and a rear d?railleur. The Candy's didn't give me the slightest hassle, not even once.
  14. I love my Hope Pro II's that I have on the Trials bike. Will be getting a Pro II wheelset for my other bike as soon as I can afford it. You miss the noise when it's not there.
  15. I've refreshed the page 23 times now and still no noombies!
  16. What I did last time was shake the tyre sideways, and I also dribbled some sealant along the tyre bead, which seemed to make a difference. It sounds like there's something seriously wrong though. Maybe the strip tore? Either way, take it in, let them sort it out, and focus on riding. It's much more fun than struggling with tubeless conversions.
  17. Okay then it's really weird. Where was it leaking? Along the side of the tyre? Did you shake the wheel up properly to get the sealant everywhere? I must admit that I'm not too crazy about tubeless conversions, but that you're describing sounds like there's something seriously wrong.
  18. Was there sealant in the tyre?
  19. Well, after much thought and reading I've decided to go for the Chumba. Why? 1. The build quality as perfect as any bike can ever get. 2. It's damn pretty! 3. It has a removable dropout, EBB and a 30.9 seat post - although it does cost more 4. I like supporting the underdog 5. It's a boutique brand at a great price. I would still love to build the Inbred as well, but I can't afford both.
  20. There's a very comprehensive page on the On One website about sizing. I measured my inseam and my height, and looked it up on their table, as well as read what everyone else uses (also on the site), I could go for a 16" or 18". I'm 1,74m. As far as I understand the Summer Season is a bit heavier, but it's built to last.
  21. The DMR is pretty! Haven't seen them locally at all though. Any idea of price/agent?
