  1. That's what I call TOO MUCH INFORMATION! Schwynn, Did you at least keep your mouth closed?
  2. I was always keen on doing the BMX thing, but after seeing the guys actually clearing the first jump on the Bryanston BMX track, I decided to rather get a Trials bike. Much safer.
  3. I think as long as she's made some food and done the dishes you can let her go riding. Make sure she has her phone with her so you can call her back if a nappy needs changing.
  4. I've ordered a few things off CRC, never had an issue. How much is an SLX wheelset over here? There it's R1200excl. You can build a Hope Pro II with really decent rims and DT Swiss spokes for under R3k. Plus they have stock of such a wide variety of stuff. I'm sorry, but the LBS can not compete with CRC.
  5. That. Is. AWESOME! The 2nd piggy from the left looks like he has personality.
  6. CRC could still be my downfall. They so many nice things at such good prices that my self-control is under serious pressure.
  7. If you're bailing when you're clipped in, it just means that normally when you'd put your foot down, you're now putting your whole body down. My advice is to learn stationary balance and work on your technical skills. If you can pull a trackstand whenever you stop, there's no need to upclip - or at least you can do it in your own time. If you know how to get over the technical bits you'll also not need to stop or unclip, so you'll also take that out of the equation.
  8. So HR was riding as normal then? Is the bike okay?
  9. That bike was really sexy when he first built it, but with the purple bits it's going to be so pimp!
  10. Sure, once I have my light finished. I've been working on it for the last year or so, so I'm sure it'll be finished very soon.
  11. Every Tuesday? Till what time? Need to finish my lights...
  12. Oh, and for those wondering why I would fix something that's not broken: I slid out the other day which cause some debris to stick in inbetween the strip and the tyre. I kept on losing pressure, so I decided to clean the front tyre out properly. Then I did the back tyre because I did the front. I still regret it.
  13. You'll need to size the mag up to A3 to fit in my beer gut.
  14. R400? Thanks but I'll try my luck with the insulation tape. Either that or buy a wheel set with tubeless ready rims in the future.
  15. You talking about his one here? http://bontrager.com/model/02566 Where do you get them, and how much?
  16. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of tubeless, but I think the big flaw is the conversion. Maybe I'll try doing the conversion with think insulation tape instead of the strips.
  17. I posted his first video a while back. He's a legend in the trials community. Very inspirational.
  18. Let's be honest with ourselves for a little while. Tubeless conversions are CRAP. I serviced the 'Goose over the last few days. Did the wheels today. First thing that you'll notice is the tyre and the liner have fused together like glue. They're pretty much 1 unit. So you pry the wheel off the rim, then tear the strip off the tyre. Great, now EVERYTHING is sticky. You do your best to clean the strip and the tyre, but it would be easier to just set them on fire and buy new ones. Now comes re-installation. Only this time the strips aren't flat any more, they have creases long the length. The tyres are still sticky, so the sidewalls are sticking to each other. The strips stick to the tyres and the whole damn lot stick to you. Once you finally manage to seat the tyre inside the strip, you try to get enough sealant in through the valve, but that doesn't happen as the sealant seals the valve hole. Finally get enough sealant in, shake and spin everything around and grab the pump. You pump like a madman for about 2 minutes until the thing finally seals. Now half the sealant is on the floor, but you can't care any more. Now here's my point: You go through all this effort to run tubeless. The main benefit of tubeless is lower tyre pressure, but do we ever really run our tyre pressures THAT low? I don't. Even when I used to have slime tubes I ran similar pressures and only once had a pinch flat. Never had a puncture because it sealed anyway. Anyone care to convince me that tubeless conversions aren't a waste of time?
  19. Just replace the BB with a new internal one. Nothing wrong with them! If you're still enjoying the bike, then keep it. If you're looking for an excuse to buy something new, have a look at the Mongoose Teocali Super.
  20. I prefer hearing my tires scrub when I really push it. Way cooler than music.
  21. Not afraid of it, worst case scenario is that I'll break it completely, in which case I'll just drill holes through the legs, put bolts in and ride rigid. I think I'll shave the cats, that way all the hair will soak up the oil, the cats will be clean and everyone will be happy. Managed to get a socket btw. I had to tighten the one bottom nut, it was leaking oil onto the disc pads. Once the oil stopped leaking I decided it's time to open the thing to make sure there's still some oil. Damn italians.
  22. Hey JB! I stripped that Marzocchi again. Damper adjust isn't working, so I'm going to open the entire thing tomorrow. Any tips on how to get fork oil off the pavement, garage floor, kitchen couters, cats, car seats?
