  1. Trash Talking doesn't win boxing matches, McGregor learnt that today. Mayweather was the superior athlete, no doubt, he was never fazed, took his time and from round 6 it was a one way street. Mayweather deserves the title and the purse.
  2. Yeah, McGregor's weight and Mayweather's age, ....kinda cancel each other out..
  3. I think I read somewhere Mayweather was worth over $1.3 Billion dollars, and thats not a mistake its "Billion"!....more than some small countries, McGregor going to struggle to even scratch that surface. I dont like McGregors antics, Mayweather is no saint but he has the history to prove his worth in the boxing arena, I hope he cleans up.
  4. Hi Caerus, please send Big H my regards if you speak to him again, he knows me well,...and I trust you are well my friend, I miss your comments.
  5. I am old enough to have played a lot of pinball, so when this came out I played it non stop, still have it on a vinyl somewhere.........
  6. Some good visuals there, but its hard beat the antics of Angus Young on the Guitar....
  7. A little high energy AC/DC on an early Tuesday morning..... ......THUNDERSTRUCK....!
  8. I'll also watch, I am not a boxing fan but this has developed a life of its own, so Yah, I'll watch. Personally I hope Mayweather flattens him in round one, but either way I think the show will more than likely be a bit of an anti climax,..fizzling out into the promise of a rematch,....... which hopefully, no one will care about!.
  9. Ha, Ha, how I remember that ad. Couldn't stand the stuff but damn it was a good ad. Isn't it strange how things change, even though the message is still there, I cant see an ad like this been as successful today. Actually same could be said for the Lunch bar ad.
  10. Grief, Health and Safety here would have a heart attack, no hard hats, no safety boots, no yellow high vis jackets, unstable platform, no gloves, and, and,and....
  11. Yah, thats the one Haunted Mesa, absolute drivel. I dont read much fiction anymore and I havent read "Shane" so maybe I'll download it when I feel like some easy light reading.
  12. Its beautiful Look695, you can be really proud.
  13. I am busy with "Endurance - Shackleton's incredible voyage" by Alfred Lansing - one of the best researched books I have read on this fateful expedition, if like me you have an intense interest in ships, the ocean, wrecks and human endevour and fortitude this is a good book to read. How they survived even a few days with what they had in that savage environment is beyond me, a real survival story.
  14. I didn't know Louis L'Amour was a boxer.? Interesting. I liked some of his early westerns, but he lost the plot in my opinion (much like Stephen King) with his later science fiction stuff, read one and that was it, I thought it was rubbish. I remember reading quite a bit of George Gilman's "Edge" series of westerns as well, I actually preferred them to Louis, a lot more raw and gritty as I would have imagined the old west to be. But I digress.....Sorry I dont know any boxing books.
  15. Hee, Hee, thats great Blokman, its just such a heartwarming story isnt it, as I said I havent met anyone who didn't enjoy it,....it almost made me want to go get a penguin.
  16. Thats a seriously fine outdoor area Look695, did you build it all yourself.?
  17. Ha, Ha, I got all nostalgic, right now a pukka SA braai would be great, and I dont care about the time either. Here as everyone knows, they BBQ, mostly if you go to someone for a BBQ they do hamburgers and chicken over a gas burner - they have no idea! But me, I still do a proper braai with wood and patience, I just lack good old SA Boerewor's, I could quite easily kill for a few good Boerie roll's right now!
  18. I think you will like "The Penguin Lessons" by Tom Mitchell, its excellent and an easy, positive, upbeat read, you can download it on Kindle for a few bucks, I have yet to meet anyone who disliked it.
  19. One of my all time favorites, Gnarls Barkley - Crazy! Pump up the sound and join in.....
  20. Yah, the weather is always an issue, us South Africans take the sunny weather for granted, I got terrible cabin fever at first because I was also a very outdoors person, I thought to go outdoors you need sun, and when it rained you came indoors, and stayed there, till the sun came out again a few hours later. But here the sun doesn't come out for 6 months, well it does but its a different sun, so now I have adjusted I realize you just have to do different stuff outdoors when its cold and snowy. On the other hand people here, (me included) really appreciate the lovely summer days, much more than I did in South Africa anyway,... streets are packed with people till late at night, shops are open till midnight, some later, sidewalk cafe's are full of people enjoying a late coffee, the parks are full of people just enjoying the sun, having a Picnic, playing ball, even the office staff at lunch hour go outside and play handball, its crazy, heres all these office johnnies, shirtless, with no tan lines and as white as snow, in their long pants and smart shoes throwing ball. Its great, I love the atmosphere.
  21. Been enjoying this Don McLean hit as well.....
  22. Who is the lady Stretch, she has a lovely voice? I agree Art's voice is effortless and clear as a bell, the two of them made some fantastic music, "Mrs Robinson" was another great song.
  23. Nice one Tedibear, I am a big Simon & Garfunkel fan heres another of their greats, a real haunting song,...
  24. Strange, I personally couldn't get into the Dark Tower series, to me they weren't classic Steven King, spoilt it for me and I stopped reading him altogether. Pity because he was one of the few fiction writers I used to read. I tried to read "Under the Dome" but just gave up, it was absolute trash. Steven King, for me anyway, will always be The Shining, Carrie, Salem's Lot, Pet Sematary, The Long walk, Cujo, The Dead Zone etc, basically almost anything before 1983/85. The long walk was especially good, one of his best in my opinion, as was Salem's Lot.
  25. Indeed mine too, I was hitchhiking back from an army camp once and some guy in a beat up old Cortina picked me up, his stereo was probably worth more than his car and we played "Radar Love" repeatedly for hours all the way to my house..........good old days those. This is just another of my all time favorites, and just such a really feel good video, more than 30 years ago and still stands the test of time. Music was different back then.
