  1. Just a few random pics
  2. Unless I'm mistaken, what is the point of advertising the Tour of Flanders and then fail to broadcast it????
  3. Hello Bennie! Unfortunately legs and shoulder took the worst of it, not a great deal of skin left! Mark rode brilliantly though, lost him after 20 min, must be his new Colnago! Take care,
  4. I know, get lulled into a false sense of accomplishment that you're just about to survive this and then that hits you. When I saw it I had the feeling that someone had a warped sense of humour
  5. Towards Berlin, saw signs for King Williams Town and Mdantse
  6. Much, much harder than Herald. That's the price you pay I suppose for having a well organised race, the route itself just kills you.
  7. Good Point Steven! The most important aspect I missed, some very cute girls at water points, plus when they saw the blood on me I was lapping up the attention and sympathy! I see you feel the same about comparing it to the Herald here, total contrast. Well done to the organisers.
  8. Well I just felt it was a good event? The kiddies race the day before was a good idea, when we did the Herald in PE there was no order on where the specific groups started from, there were guys that were supposed to start half an hour after me that were standing next to me. It seems every corner in East London had marshals/traffic police directing where to go. The route it self was very well policed as one rode close to a number of settlements so the police were visible most of the time. Just the fact that it was well organised, we were simply commenting on it being a pleasure. Is that sufficient for a race report?
  9. I have to agree, extremely well organised and presented. Hats off to the traffic police as well for doing a sterling job. Compared to the Herald here a month ago, it was a pleasure to ride except for the idiot teen that clipped my wheel to have me crashing at 40km an hour. Somebody needs to explain to sonny about holding your line and if you are going to stand have the common courtesy to say so. But besides that I thought the race was really well organised.
  10. THe only thing I find bizarre here is some of the incredibly bad spelling in some of the replies!
  11. I have to agree, I was watching and wondering if this guy is for real or on some serious medication. While it was not a lynching party they and we the public wanted some sort of rational explanation, not taking up 5 min of alloted time of the interview with some inane banter about Charles Dickens.
  12. CEO is Barney Treger. This is the same group that has Just Time, which is Seiko,Timex etc. Just Fun Toys is a part of the group, but Barney Treger is the head honcho
  13. I have the pleasure to say I have also dealt with him, very decent trustworthy guy. After buying a frame from him which it turns out would have been too small, he readily agreed to send another one down to PE for me. Pleasure to deal with someone like that.
  14. First choice #1, or #3. Black looks good but far from practical. What would the quality of padding be compared to First Ascent or Cape Storm?
  15. Funny that you mention the bibshorts coming apart, I also bought from Sportsmans Warehouse and after a few weeks also found that they were coming apart. Genius that I am though I had lost the receipt, and paid cash so no chance of changing them. Saying that I do own the jackets and regular cycling shorts and besides the bib problem their quality is very good
  16. Thanks Bennie, was actually going to phone Mark for your number and ask you!
  17. Hello all, it seems all my friends have been notified of their seeding/start times and yet I'm still to receive one. Was wondering if anybody else out there has experienced the same problem?
  18. Is he genuinely mistaken or is he on serious medication ?
  19. I think, turquoise,greenish..... It did have wheels, that I do remember. Funny enough I can describe her in detail, funny that.
  20. Well it was my first OFM and I thought the race was brilliant, thought well organised, other riders courtous. Will definitely be back next year, if only to see the very hot girl riding a Bianchi again!
  21. Hi Fork, it is a Astra A70, 10mm and the Police Station ( in the broadest sense of the word) is Walmer Police here in Port Elizabeth
  22. Thanks Ciclismo, tempted but after all the calls/letters to them you start running out of steam. As I said to them, I seriously doubt many of us want to actually carry a firearm, but it's rather obvious that thugs have gained the upper hand and that the police are overwhelmed, ( those that are commited to making a difference).
  23. Trust me I know nothing to do with cycling, but after 4 years and receiving a competency saying I'm capable of using one, I get told I've had my request refused. Even though I have jewellery store and have had two violent armed robberies, my business partner was targeted at his house and hijacked, and after sending 53 pages of documents substantiating my request. Sorry folks as I know this has no relevance to cycling, but so damned annoyed right now! Even though I can appeal I frankly fail to see the point. Maybe I can sell my Specialized and buy a tank
  24. Max, a huge hearty thank you! I was feeling grumpy/sorry for myself at not being able to ride with have a chest cold and read your ''outrage'' at being treated so badly by the milk empire. Not often I laugh out loud but very well written!! Well done!
  25. Many thanks, I'll change from mixing with Powerade to plain water then.
