  1. With all respect, that is a damned silly place to try and ride through. Has been for years.
  2. Nothing. You need both nuts to ride SS.
  3. Would it not be ironic if one of the Epic's favourite sons was to be the catalyst that saw Lourensford telling Mr Vermaak and co to get stuffed. Chop *Disclaimer: presuming the above is true, of course.
  4. If it was a Merlin it probably disappeared with a 'poof'.
  5. My experience of riding in Europe in the mid/late nineties was the exact opposite - 'armed escorts' off farms in the UK, France, Belgium and Spain, and many a rapid exit before seeing any evidence of shotgun. Mates still riding in the UK and France still have similar challenges, and often on what are, legally, 'public rights of way'. Land access is a universal challenge and Christoph, as decent a guy as you appear to be, you have, as a guest here, behaved particularly badly. And to then throw in the classic whingeing-pom line 'this would never happen back home' leaves a very sour taste. You can leave now.
  6. Cedric Gracia.
  7. And PowerBalance was best accessory until they stopped advertising
  8. Somebody got Saliva pregnant?
  9. Dreadful news.
  10. Not for the announcement of the positive, which is the issue here. They drag the hearing/appeal process out.
  11. The Ritchy doesn't help then?
  12. Lyk my dis die selfde camera wat hulle vir die current issue se cover gebruik.
  13. I guess it will be a bike from the company that spends the most on advertising with Buycycling?
  14. Is your surname Lemmer?
  15. Amazing. I saw him on a mountain bike yesterday.
  16. I thought that was a Bicycling cover for a moment.
  17. 25 years of fun in bunches and counting... and the one constant has been riders bitching about safety instead of looking after it themselves. Remember a few <maybe more than a few> years back when the referees started stopping and dq'ing bunches when they crossed the white line? Amazingly, we found a way to do it their way Maybe it is time for a refresher course If there is no road closure, surely the onus lies on the riders to keep themselves safe from things on the other side of the white line. Intersections, different story. Again, accountability. do it right, personally, and make sure the guys around you do it right, and it will all work out just fine. Make it the organisers' problem, and you lose control of your own situation.
  18. Possession of stolen goods is a crime. would be interesting to hear how the law looks at consignment in this scenario? Imagine the guy you just caught with your wallet telling the cops it was a consignment item
  19. If riders are too stupid to keep left of the white line, then let Darwin take care of things. Accountability. Even cyclists need to learn this. Motorbike marshals should not be needed.
  20. Having thought about this a little more: are you seriously wanting to get the council to pay for a new wheel/rim because your - by your own admittance - k-k idea? What happened to accountability? If you screwed up, learn from it and move on, why must the rest of us pay for your mistake?
  21. I always try to drop the kids off before a long drive.
  22. You will tell them you were riding recklessly?
  23. They sent a smaller one this time, in hope...
  24. And you lived: "Here is a crazy story from Jeremy. I have no idea how he is still alive. I've suffered some pretty serious accidents, and even I can't imagine how much this hurt. This happend a long time ago. In may of 94 or 95 I was trying to hit 60 mph. I had hit 59 but couldnt break the 60 barrier so I got road tires and a bigger front chain ring. I was young and dumb and tried it at night with no lights. A truck made a left in front of me this is the aftermath. It took a year and seven surgeries (two bone graphs) to get me back on my feet. Obviously this is no fault of the carbon, but 15 yrs later I still have visible shards in my leg to remember my first mountain bike. Now 15 yrs later I am still a bicycle messenger, and I love it." Bustedcarbon.com. Used to be a fun site.
  25. If you are so loaded you can afford a bike that costs more than a house, you obviously have enough cash for a second one when your massive manhood cracks the top tube. Glad they said no.
