    I have the exact same problem. This is how I deal with it: Step1: Don't get married; Step 2: Don't have kids. More money for bike stuff

    I've also had very good service from Garmin in SA. They've replaced a few products for me. The one time, they sent me a goodie bag as well.

    You should be able to find out the year of manufacture on the Serial Number
