  2. Very good read, thanks. I did laaik this: ... that both have their place in riding, specifically I believe that flats make you better and that clipless can make you faster... Been riding clipless for 8 months and enjoy it because i feel i get a bit of extra power on pull-ups and also find that alternating between predominantly down to predominantly up pedalling is great for relieving leg cramps or pins and needles in my feet.
  3. thanks
  4. hi, wondering if anyone's had an edge305 turn off on them? riding the monster on saturday, it happened 4 or 5 times. From what I could tell, it seemed to mostly turn off after quick descents down bumpy sections, so possibly related to vibrations... any self-service I can try, should I send it in for repairs, or upgrade time?

i saw a comment here on thehub along the lines of "redstone is one of the toughest 50km events in the area"... i would assume excluding the monster, of course. keen to try it out, have ridden sections of it. probably next on my list.
  8. so 2gb upload post-editing?
  9. mine came in at 1594m (recorded on my phone). My edge 305 decided to wig out, turning off on random bumpy sections. Missing 45m - 1h of riding... It's usually a little more accurate, but haven't even uploaded yet.
  10. He looks like cpt jean luc picard.
  11. well done gav. I'm sitting at my desk today wishing i was riding it again, wanting to do better. 363 more days, more or less, still....
  12. after the monster, i'm thinking of using it for longer rides. this was my longest ride in the saddle (6 hrs).
  13. My first monster done and dusted. 2 punctures before the 45km split were fun. Managed to graciously land near-bail at the top between the 2 peaks, catching my bike mid air as I endo'd over one of those drop offs. The head over heels stint down the monster wasn't as gracious, though my ego was less bruised than my legs: no witnesses Came in at just over 6 hours after hitting a wall in the last 3kms. Massage followed by beers went down like a home sick mole. Can't wait for the next one
  14. Ya saw him at the top looking for a hanger. He eventually decided to remove links firm his chain and was gonna attempt some sort of on the fly ss rig
  15. And will you take that mohawk of your helmet now?
