  1. the bantam - **** looking bakkie - **** looking bike .... not a fan!
  2. Yip that is correct! Keen to have my stripes forever!!! YAY!
  3. just FYI - if you win the World Cup - you get a trophy, that is all - and then you ride with the Number 1 plate the following years first round ... If you win the World Champs (as OM said) you get to wear a sweet rainbow jersey for an entire year!!! Its a big deal. Once off, give it your all, race (both in XC and DH) where you pedal till you puke because 2nd is just the first looser!
  4. :D :D It is SUCH an amazing feeling ...... I am still not able to grasp it! hahahaa I think it will sink in the first time i put the shirt on for a race event! Thanks for all the support guys and girls, it was absolutely amazing.
  5. Definitely the World Cup to define the Worlds Best rider OVERALL .... You need to be consistent on ALL tracks, in ALL conditions and it is no wonder that the Winner of the World Cup Overall is generally ranked as the No 1 Rider in the world. BUT Worlds is a different kettle of fish altogether - it is like Olympics - a once off crack at a title that is exceptionally coveted! You can really hold your head up to say you have won it, even if there was some luck invovled, or the weather conditions changed in your favor etc.
  6. DH track and XC tracks are taped, marked and mattressed! ... ITS ON GUYS!!! See you all tomorrow for Course walk PS - Grebel and Super Mill - I have added some extra sneeky lines for you! hahahahah
  7. I miss these old days when i used to navigate .. Need to buy my own car only thing is when it goes wrong ... EISH

  10. a google earth image of the intersection with the 80km/h signs shown about 20m down the road The road after the intersection is an onramp to the freeway so it would not in my mind be deemed as an urban area. anymore
  11. hey guys and girls Hopefully someone on here is wise in the ways of the traffic act and can help me out The cops have installed a static camera at a set of traffic lights as you exit PMB bound for Durban, The camera is a speed camera as well as a jump the robot camera, SO i have just got 2 fines in the post for 2 consecutive days where i was on my way home from work and doing 75 and 77 in a supposed 60km/h zone. The issue is - as you go through the lights ... 20m down the road is an 80km/h sign, and you can see this in the picture that was attached to the fines ... what is the ruling in this regard??? Does anyone know? I have heard that if you can see the sign then they cant nail you. HELP Thanks Nige
  12. Stayeasy Hotel is right next to Midlands Mall - its like R700 a night for a ROOM with breakfast. Its 3 minutes away from the race venue
  13. Totally - can even organise an old GT RTS 2 to ride - but there is no way im gonna hit the jumps we have on the new tracks on that bike with those setups
  14. Awesome ... the year i started racing nationals as a young upstart in Sub-juniors! hahahaha We missed that round unfortunately though - was too expensive to go to all of them.
  15. I run the Spank Spikes on my Enduro rig - they are awesome.
  16. Stevie had a superb run ... it looks like Gee was slow in the last split as everyone of the last 10 or so made time on him there. But with 2 to go ... I think the overall is running away a bit ... Stevie is still in with a shout ... but it looks like a longshot for the rest.
  17. There is a BIG battle brewing on the fast approaching horizon ... and its between Greg, Mick, Gee and Gwin. All aiming to peak at Worlds. 3 of the 4 seem to have been trying not to end themselves (well not Gee - hes had a good couple of diggers lately) and are holding back a bit it.
  18. @DJR - not you dude ... the lighties on Vital and Pink bike and Dirt ... hahahaha
  19. I have sent the videos through to Vital and Pink Bike - this one and the Masters Track video. So now its time to sit back and wait for the slating and whinging to start from all the 15 year old, couch racers who frequent the international sites. hahahahaha
  20. this is no surprise Fabian nearly got DSQ'ed in Pietermaritzburg for Illegally practicing the track outside of practice times. He was staying with some ex-DHers from KZN and they were shuttling him on the hill privately. I have met him a couple of times and hes a really nice guy, but sometimes his actions in racing leave a lot to be desired
  21. Just seen Nicks tweet ... hahahahaha If you see an oke coming at you with a schambok followed by a hyperactive staffie ... Id move! hahahaha If any1 is found to B moving rocks logs etc on any of the tracks in Cascades park. You will be Thrashed. Don't bother arriving at the start. CLASSIC
  22. @Gannet Dude i suggest you get hold of Dellah Paul and the event organisers ASAP as i am not sure what the ruling is with riding the track blind. I know for DH you need to have completed 2 practice runs to be eligable to race You will need to have registered and collected your accreditation by Thursday 11am ... As per the Race Schedule. I doubt there will be registration on the Friday or Saturday. So you had better make some sort of plan as you need to be there in person to register. I think you may need to speak nicely to your boss
  23. hahahaha classic Dont worry Dellah will be sending out a mail shot to ALL entrants soon with this in mind. So everyone will know. No we wouldnt dare close it this weekend ... we'd have a riot on our hands! hahahaha
