    have to be selected for Junior worlds ... still have to pay your own way though ... CSA doesnt pay. Just heard that Jono Philogene has been added to the Juniors - hope they add his brother Chris too - those two lighties are the next bright sparks for SA downhill. Chris is first year junior and already up on the overalls at Nationals

    Dewald, I think the question you should rather be asking yourself is the following ... A - "Do I want to WIN enduro's?" or B - "Do I want to ride and have fun at enduros?" If your answer is A, then I would say a fancy bike like the ones on this thread is more beneficial, but you can still take your Ghost ASX and rip it up on the trails. If you answer is B, then take your Ghost ASX ... and rip it up on the trails .... So A or B, you can use your Ghost, it might not be "perfect" but it will manage 95% of what will be thrown at you just fine ... Personally I would say that a Santa Cruz Bronson equivalent is the best mix for our trails from a geometry and travel perspective. Although I have a SC Nomad that could rival my DH bike almost - and even though it is overkill 70% of the time ... its still RAD!!!!

    On the 6th and 7th June Enduro and DH riders descended upon Cascades Mountain Bike Park in Pietermaritzburg for the 2015 KZNMTB Regional Championships presented by NMI-DSM. The event brings to a close a highly successful 2015 race season, with a 3 round series and 1 championship event hosted at bike parks around the KwaZulu-Natal Province. The venue is well known to most riders having hosted 4 World Cups and 1 World Championship, and again did not disappoint, with steep and technical, as well as physically demanding trails awaiting the riders. Mid-winter in South Africa meant crisp cold mornings, but no rain for weeks before the event leaving the tracks dry and dusty ready to powder up during racing. Click here to view the article

    Spruit? .. whats that? No - generally on the gravity side ... as I am the DH Commissioner on KZNMTB's Commission. So its mostly on our KZN series posts etc. And then all the news articles about the series. So I guess you dont read many of the aticles relating to Enduro or DH then .... ... especially not the KZN ones. hahaha

    After 3000 odd posts ... I think its high time I introduce myself ... The names, Nige. I am a geologist and in my spare time run the KZNMTB Enduro and DH series with my colleagues DaveD and Morne Odendaal. My wife and I ride XCO, Enduro and DH together ... used to do do XCM but its got too oversubscribed ... So we now just enjoy trail riding ... and doing skids and buckjumps.

    Its any race that is not on the csa calendar. Which is downloadable from csas website. And remember it only applies to holders of a full domestic racing licence ... ie elite or junior mtb racers who race nationals for example. If you got the 75 bucks affiliation fee you are excluded as far as I know. Its only if you took out the 450 buck licence that it counts

    I will likely go and walk the DH with a blower this weekend as I am away in Germany from the 25th to the 30th ... so will only have the Sunday to do anything that weekend. I have taken the Friday off before the event though to tape the DH ... Not sure what DaveD has up his sleeves for the Enduro Ryan - I highly doubt DaveD will have the stages marked by Friday for you to ride ... but again - chat to him about that.

    NB - The Enduro Event on Saturday starts at 11am - NOT 12!!!! .... this was an error put in from the first round. Since then the race start has been brought forward!!! This is to accommodate for the numbers in the field
