  1. The riders should have support vehicles, with which they will have contact at the end of each stage, and therefore do not have a box system as with some other races. We can however make a plan and have boxes dropped at specific checkpoints. Regards I have had similar questions see above.
  2. Not familiar with the route, difficult grading on a scale from 1-10?
  3. @cejay51....cycling photos

  8. Doing the 36One and Transkaroo combined with a months holiday in the Karoo/Boland/Eastern Cape for less than the entry fee of the Epic.
  9. Even with the penalty they are "only" 27 minutes behind Ascendis,my money would be on them to be in Orange by the end of the day.
  10. I can get "addicted" to the EPIC as well if I'm sponsored every year ,but being a nobody and poor I have to suffer withdrawal symptoms
  11. I like the new route on the Ultra, brings a nice relief from the boring district road so a big up on that. On the down side the bottleneck at the 1st single track but can be sorted with a little bridge and batching. A BIG dissapointment was the water tables only 1 worth mentioning was the Squirt table where we got Ice and some other nice things. Please revert back to the old tables and the "LEKA" vibes. A Big thank you to TORQ cycles for helping my wife with her bike really appreciated fellows. Will I be back.............more than likely!!
  12. We have a love/hate relationship with this race, every year it hurts us,but we keep on going back.It is so not what we are used to.The "flat" roads with the corrugations and the altitude is what gets us.Would be nice to meet up with some "hubbers" from up country. Will be there on Friday staying at the Suidwester
  13. Sias, please elaborate not familiar with the area. Thanks
  14. Long Trek from the coast for the wife and me to go and suffer in the altitude, hopefully the temprature will be kind to us,doing the ultra.
  15. Mmmmmm let me think about it.............NO!!!!! Enjoy
  16. Saw on twitter Horner out of Vuelta any more clarity from the Hubbers?
  17. Hi guys, My wife and I started to "Bant" a week ago, yesterday we did the Eston Mtb race a mere 60km,she hit the wall at 20 and I bonked at 50,how long before we will be riding "normally" again. I believe this topic must have been addressed somewhere in the 217 pages, but would appreciate some feedback and HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.Doing the Crater Cruise in September and started to train for the Homeward Bound challenge in November Thanx
  18. I agree with the guys that are saying the 1x10 route is the answer,I converted 2 bikes to 1x10 and must say I am enjoying it .When racing we use our 2x10's. On a lighter note (no pun intended) my wife is 1,62m weighing about 50kg and she rides a 36 upfront with a 11-36 at the back, living in KZN we have some nasty hills,so gents me included I think we should HTFU!!!!!
