  1. No Heroics at this stage,training lost ,is training lost.Don't push to hard now,I would stick with my programme,you should be in your slow down phase very close to tapering. Concentrate on your diet,equipment make sure everything is in tip top shape and just enjoy the run up to the event.

  6. Eish! The mud and the thin air made for an interesting race.Managed to negotiate the mud the whole day,but for the last big mud hole about 500 m from the end where I managed to buy a piece of prime Reitz real estate. Hope when we pass there in April it will be DRY!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Sani Non stop 2009, 1 km from the water table (could see it) totally broke down,shivering on the bike could not get the pedals turned over. Told the seconding vehicle I need food just to be told to ride to the table.In my best and color full Afrikaans I told him that I need f*&%* food and need it now.After some food and sugar spikes and 10 minutes rest was able to get back on the bike and continue. Bad Bad feeling

  18. 44 degrees crater cruise 2010,average was 35 according to my garmin. The only way to measure the temp while riding is in the sun unless you ride from tree to tree. We are waiting for February and March in Durban the humidity normally kills us during this time,not strange to ride in 30 plus degrees with humidity at 80 plus.
  19. Hi Jan have to agree with TNT multifocal contact lenses the way to go,you can then get a good pair of "shades" with changeable lenses to help protect your eyes.Work for me.
