  1. Not very accurate for me - 21 beats too slow!!!!
  2. I remember Arnie and Franco Columbo (?) putting on a show in Cape Town in the early 70's. Franco was really ripped and very very strong - he outperformed Arnie by a long way in a bench press exhibition!!
  3. Good news chaps - I lost 2kg this past week.....................I was circumcised on Monday.
  4. Bunch of young skinny riders!! 1,82 95kg 20.1% Just turned 60 and according to the dietician my optimum fat percentage should be 16 - 20% So not far to go!! Like Mark I was a power lifter and olympic lifter in my youth and ate Bears for breakfast!!
  5. Remember, this is an English forum. Moenie *** praat nie.
  6. It was the wind lads. The early riders had a great advantage and the top 10 riders were way off the early pace - just as well it did not influence the results - only Menchov performed in the top guys and probably would have won it if he started in the morning like the winner.
  7. OK wise guy, AC only beat AF by a scant 31" where did you get your erroneous info that "Alberto will rip Andy apart"? LA would not have made such a stupid error which has cost Andy the Tour as this was the differemce before the ill fated attack in the wrong gear!!!!!!!!!!!! The commentators mentioned ad nauseum, how much Andy had improved and was very confident of beating AC in the TT!!!!!!!!!!
  8. for attacking and not losing any time for a change. Well done AC on being gracious enough to let Andy regain some of his pride by letting him win the prestigious stage and for his sportsmanship in waiting for Sammy. Better luck next year Andy!!
  9. Its called public relations - I wish Andy would stop threatening revenge and show us he can ride. I predict the gap will still be 8 seceonds at the end of the day!!
  10. Reading and thinking and watching the drama I have come to one conclusion....it all boils down to Andy's mistake. He had the Yellow Jersey - why attack? If he just maintained the status quo he would still have the Yellow today instead of the White...maybe next year he will have the experience to retain it?? How often did LA lose it?

    Oh Look

Oh dearie me, anyway the Viking has the Green jersey for keeps.
  12. Thanks Matt and Slowbee - I must learn patience!!
  13. Thanks Matt - sorry I got highly frustrated as my email addy has changed - I would appreciate it if you could merge my accounts under Wobbles with the Wobbles07 email address. Many thanks.
  14. Hi slowbee - I can't even find the old search button let alone how to contact our esteemed administrators. When I have time I will try and work out how this supposedly "updated" site works. Yours in frustration - Wobbles 07!!!
  15. I have been overseas for a couple of months. I come back and I can't log on. My email has changed so can't update profile and so have to re-register as Wobbles07 and lose all my Wobbles posts. The admin and communication from our forum administrators is very poor!!
  16. Jeff is a nice guy and extremely accomodating.
  17. I have done 3 and it is not an enjoyable ride. My first one was in 2001 on the Detour route from the OE batch. I was pushed off the road 5 times and could not cycle up Ou Kaapse as we had all come to a standstill as bikes were spread across the road. My next one was in 2009 - need I say more!! This year it was promised that the wind would not be a factor - I thought gusts of 55 knotts was a factor? And the undisciplined riders!! Starting from the W group there always seemed to be slower riders in front riding all over the place - the seeding for this event is not good. I wa going for a 3:30 and as we left the start and had to get off our bikes to push, I thought there goes my Goal again. I was proved right. As mentioned in another post the finish was not enjoyable with all that constuction and unlike last year, we did not go to the beer tent as it was an awfully long walk on cleats from the bike park on hard surfaces. What were the organisers thinking? Put the bike park next to the beer please!!!!!! Why do I ride this "race"? I am not good enough to contest a place and the weather plays too big a role to set any meaningful goals. The main reason is the whole Cape Town experience and the camraderie within our group. The beautiful scenery of sea and mountains, the friendly people and the great restaurants and pubs make it all worthwhile!! The new refurbished airport is also awesome. See you next year Cape Town!!!!!
  18. Bring some Pro 3 and Serfas and Gatorskin tyres please - will be great meetung you
  19. Marius - of course....its all about the bike!!! Carbon - I did!! ocram Thanks for your pertinent comments. I am floundering a bit as Argus is just around the corner and I would like a strong ride after last year! I don't want to do anything too radical at this late stage but will consider a Cycle Lab set up afterwards. Yes - I am lazy to stretch but my physio also emphasized this point. She also said don't change anything but get used to the new shoes as she said the cleats were probably not aligned with the old ones. Swiss I thought that inbetween my Cervelo and Felt setups I would find a happy medium!! I was wrong and got kakked on by the more experienced riders this morning and they said change in mm and NOT cm!! I will heed your advice and change it to only 0,5 cm. I will do the above change and then decide on changing saddle height. I have a suspicion that I have always been too far forward and my hammy's are not used to all this work!! My quads took big strain this am and will be pleased when I take the strain off them. Many thanks,
  20. Hi ocram - yes I have had several done and the current one is the best. I decided to move the saddle forward 2cm this morning and I got a sore left knee!! SS - no I did not and this may be the crux. I went to the physio and she confirmed no tear thank goodness Many thanks.
  21. I was cramping in my quads on my Cervelo with 54 cm top tube. Sold it and bought a Felt FC with 58cm top tube. No problems when not pushing hard with no quad problems but twinges in hammy's now and then. I was told to ride through it. On Sunday did 80km race which started uphill. After 1km my hammys were sore and never recovered and had to stand often to ease the pain. After the ride I could not bend my knees for several hours and could not even take my shoes off!! Two changes I made for the race - I shortened the stem from 140 to 100 (on the recommendation of my LBS) and I wore new carbon shoes. What is my problem and what is the solution?
  22. Just make sure you consume 30 - 60g of carboydrate per hour. any form will do.
