  1. Yip!! Looks like Cyclelab is at it again. After all, they are cycling and they are jumping a red robot so they must be Cyclelab riders right? LOL FYI, I ride with Cyclelab every saturday and I am proud to state that. The bunches I ride in don't jump red robots and we do try to ride 2 abreast
  2. Interesting that the threat about mentioning a cycling club and all subsequent posts about **** Cycling Club have been removed The censorship on TheHubSA seems to be a little bit out of control. Pretty soon they will not report stolen bikes on TheHubSA in line with the governments stance of keeping crime statistics a secret
  3. Cyclelab has arranged for the roads department to run their sweeping vehicle through the cradle before. I will follow up on monday as to when this is scheduled again
  4. BogusOne, that is just rude. Here, I have corrected it for you: http://bit.ly/1EbIYm2
  5. Not Cav's bike. That looks like the S-Works Tarmac and Cav's is the S-Works Venge
  6. Am I upset?? Sure I am!! Am I angry?? NO I booked my flights before entries opened in September, I sat online for ages struggling to get an entry, I paid for my accommodation in October last year and my bike probably arrives in Cape Town today. This is my 10th Argus/Cape Cycle Tour and I am definitely going to ride. I have trained hard but the training can carry into the Sani and all other events, great base!! I cannot fathom what it must be like to be evacuated out of your house in the middle of the night because there is a chance it will burn down. What do you take? What goes through your mind? I rode the windy one in 2008 and will ride the short one in 2015. Am I grateful?? You bet I am!!! If this fire had broken out one week later, we all would have been turned back when we arrived at the start. Well done Dave Bellairs, Helen Zille, the firefighters and the rest of the organising committee and Western Cape people
  7. Interesting. Ou Kaapse Weg is burning, as is Chappies - that leaves an out and back to the airport??
  8. If anybody is interested in going tubeless without the risk of the conversion working or not, I am selling a set of Easton EA90 SLX wheels which are tubeless wheels. The ad is here: Easton EA90 SLX 2014 Race Wheels The wheels are brand new, not nearly new or almost new.
  9. There is another option - I am selling a set of brand new Easton EA90 SLX tubeless road wheels. That will eliminate punctures entirely as no tubes to puncture https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/120754-easton-ea90-slx-2014-race-wheels/
  10. Rode Northern Farms on thursday morning. Three of us were first in at 6am and had a great ride. Love the changes to the black route, especially the new section called "Enchanted Forest". Well done to the team. Sorry to hear about the bike jacking - hope it is an isolated incident
  11. I have sent you a DM. could be the same incident I heard about.
  12. Is LAB short for something? Mods will slam this one if I type it out. Just glad she was not out walking her siamese cat - that would have been worse
  13. Seriously?? You are in a starting chute and you don't notice that EVERYBODY around you has an F on their back and yours is a G?
  14. The bib shorts are actually AWESOME but the tops are horrendous
  15. +1 They say kidney stones are worse than childbirth because with stones you do not know when it will end. I have had 2 and the pain is excruciating
  16. Except this Friday - Laurent is off to DC so he probably won't be there
  17. ?? You can see what the guy 50m away is wearing? If he is 50 metres away, he is not part of the Cyclelab bunch you see in the picture in any case.
  18. I don't condone swearing at anybody on the bike. We are all there to get fit and have fun. My issue with this picture however, is that it looks to me like the Cyclelab bunch are overtaking a group of riders who have chosen to ride right on the edge of the cycling lane. As we have all pointed out before, if you overtake a group on their left, there is a greater chance of a crash. Because Cyclelab have such a distinctive kit, everybody is quick to blame them. I do not believe that this picture demonstrates anything other than the fact that a group of riders riding 2 abreast happen to be overtaking a slower group of riders.
  19. Really do not feel like downloading a 1.5 gig file to see my pic. Is it online anywhere?
  20. As long as Sani2C is one of the events I am happy. You pay R600 and get R3,000 back immediately
  21. Good point. I purposefully dropped my tyre pressure by half a bar to add extra traction in the drains.
  22. I saw that guy on the JUMA. I passed him only to have him FLY PAST ME like I was sitting on the ground eating ice creams. That dude can ride
  23. To the OP - I hope that you heal up quickly. Your name implies that you are old but your profile says you are 46! WAY TO YOUNG TO QUIT MTB. Personally I loved the race. I rode the drains like I was riding on egg shells and made sure that I kept a good distance to the person in front of me in case of any slips or slides. I am not saying that I should be lauded and you are a bad cyclist. All I am saying is that it was a very different course that required some careful decision making and ride planning. I remember thinking to myself how the front runners racing to win must have kakked off in the drains with the drops and slime. I hope that you are back on the IDT soon
