  1. Find the "Early Ejaculation" bit interesting . "Ok Baby,so you wanna go my place and meet Big Brown Kahuna? Sh***t, Damn!----- That's me done!"

  3. Not planning to ride Woseley at the moment. Weather looks grim and I can without the rain.
  4. See you next week. I am going out later. Will try and leave a little sooner. Kloof Street to the Blockhouse and then across to Signal Hill. Down through Tamboerskloof and back home. Meeting spot can be corner Kloof and Ivy Street from now own. It's the Cul de Sac below the Seven Eleven, so 100m from Bacini's.
  5. Contact CUM and offer them half for it when the competition is over. Who would enter a comp to pay 40k? Do you have to enter by SMS and pay for that too?
  6. Going for a ride today, Wednesday, if anybody is keen. I'll leave the top of Kloof Street around 4:30pm
  7. I've got the one without the bomb bit. Manual pump works really well.
  8. Table Mountain Bikers Buff available for R 120 each. Excl Postage. These are the Original Buff which retail for R 160 at Cape Union Mart, etc. Nice and warm for winter and they look cool.
  9. I'll be there, so see how you feel.
  10. Not sure where you live, but if you are going to drive all the way there, do the long route. The 44km heads out of town straight for the mountain while the 64km does a loop through the forest and joins the short route before the climb up the pass (don't know the name). On the plateau, the long route veers off to the left and does a longer loop through the forest plantation, before joining the 44km route at the first WP. Both routes climb and old jeep track over to get to the edge of the mountain, with a rocky and tricky descent. At the bottom of the descent, both routes cross a river (fast flowing for sure and will get your feet nice and frosty) , the 44km hands a right back down the mountain while the 64km now starts the toughest part of the route. A long climb along the edge of the mountain, towards Tulbagh. The 64km route eventually heads down into the valley, hugging the mountain and joins the 44km route again. You think its over now, but there are still some short, sharp bumps to come and you still have to cross the valley undulations to get back to Wolseley and the Finish. The 44km route is over too quickly to warrant a long drive ( I live in the CBD and was done in just over 2 hours). Go for the long one. You'll have snow on the Ceres mountains (if the clouds don't obscure it) and 2 years ago it felt like i was in Europe. Very nice race, one of my favourites I hope that helps you a bit.
  11. 4:45pm next Thursday. Top of Kloof Street at Bacini's.

    lego

There's a Lego shop at the Garden Route Mall in George of all places. Got myself a Darth Vader and Boba Fett Key Ring. Very cool. As kids we had tons of the stuff to play with.
  13. Yup. That was me. I saw you hopping the steps. Your back tyre looked a little flat.
  14. Did he mean Burry?

  16. Living in Cape Town, my first Sani this year was a bit of a logistical mission and I am not sure I want to make the effort again. Having said that, I thought of offering a Bike Transport Service from Cape Town for about 20 bikes to the Trail, Adventure and Race next year to make the trip viable. Cyclelab charged around R1100 this year, I would look at 15-20% less. The bike needs to be in a box, but it can be open on the top. Boxes make for easier packing. Handlebar is turned 90 degrees and pedals removed. Less parts removed means less chance of parts missing or being incorrectly assembled or damaged. You put your own bike together. Bikes dropped on a Friday before and can be collected Monday after. Shorter turnaround time. If this appeals to you, let me know. I want to check whether there are 20 riders out there who would give it a go.
  17. I find that if you are friendly to the check-in staff they will make a plan. The Bike Safe is pretty large and was not an issue at all. A hard shell box gives you that extra bit of protection.
  18. JGR keep me posted. The days are getting slightly longer and I don't go out for too long. An hour will get you to below the Blockhouse and back. 5:30 should also work.
  19. Hi Bane Sorry for the late reply. I was riding a new event from Houw Hoek to Knysna last week. Weather dependent I will ride tomorrow. You are welcome to join. I am taking it easy, I have no Stage races for a while now. I leave from the top of Kloof Street. Opposite Bacini's. 5pm , but can also make it at 4:30pm.
  20. My wife and I flew Kulula to the Sani. We both had boxes, hers was a stock bike box and mine was a Bike Safe. We put all our clothes into the boxes and carried a day pack as hand luggage. Her box came in at 23kg, so she paid no excess luggage. My box weighed in at 28kg and I was asked to bring it down to 26kg. I paid R 250 "heavy luggage". They charge it as soon as any item of luggage goes over 23kg. Same on the way home. We only paid for 1 bike box. We took a chance and did not pay for the "heavy luggage" online (at R200). Go to the counter, be nice and you might be surprised. Worse that will happen is that you pay R 250 instead of the online price of R 200. The size of the box doesn't interest them, it's the weight. By the way. You are now only allowed 1 piece of check-in luggage and that must be no more than 23kg in weight.
  21. Here is a locally made option: http://www.coroflot.com/calvinbotha/Custom-Racing-Bikes
  22. The inserts for my casual shoes and cycling shoes sorted out my Achilles problem instantly. Nothing since.
  23. Main problem is the forward or back position. Shoes should point slightly inward... Secondary. Forgot to mention it.
  24. Depending where your knee hurts, they either need to shift forward or back. Go and get the shoes setup before you do more permanent damage. Shoe brand or type of cleats are irrelevant.
