  1. my first thought aswell
  2. yes do it! i did xterra this year feb at age 20, i thought it would be tough, but i put my mind to it and trained. i'm not a very strong swimmer, so a swam every day for 6weeks before xterra (1,5km swim)so i finished this swim leg very comfortable ready for the rest. so yeah, i'll recommend try to swim everyday and do cycling or running aswell. swimming helps moerse baie with lung capacity and fitness. also try and practice your cycling to running transition aswell a few times good luck and enjoy
  3. yes it is possible. the only thing to consider is that currently you use big (42t/44t) and middle (32t) blade on your triple. when go double you should pick your blades wisely. a 39/26 is more for 29er, 42/28 26er. the big blade wont be much of a diff but the smaller one would be going from a 32t to 28t. I dont know rotor cranks but i think it would be a sweet upgrade

  15. other alternative with a front and rear 15mm trough axle https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/5712-ztr-alpine-hope-pro-2-hubs/
  16. running shoes are a very personal thing. firstly go to a proper running shop not places like sportmans warehouse. if you by any chance have old running shoes or similar take that with you, this is for them to see if you are neutral or pronate. don't buy shoes according to price. let them bring out all the appropiate shoes. put one shoe on the left, another one on the right, the best fitting shoes between the two stays on your foot and put a other shoe on the other foot, repeat this untill you've been trough all the shoes, then you will be sure which is the best fitting shoes at the end of the day. if you are going to do trailrunning, have a look out at the adidas response trail 16/17(the big brother of the kanadia), i've had mine for longer than a year now and the are the longest lasting shoes i've seen in a long time.
  17. nice article! i really like some good coffee, but i was always afraid that it might dehydrate, which is not so good for us baie-sukkel okes, but luckily it was proven otherwise according our friend google http://www.divinecaroline.com/22178/46361-coffee-makes-dehydrated-say-what
  18. https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/5108-ztr-alpine-26-on-hope-pro-ii-hubs-brand-new/ hi there, i have these brand new ztr alpines on hope pro 2 hubs for sale. R4500. yes they are through axle(ordered wrongly by my brother, thats why they have never been ridden) adapters are avalaible for normal QR
  19. i also thought about this. it feels like you are running out of gears but then again your speed is not that slow, but yes it feels like your are able to go even faster. from a mathematical perspective: if you use a starting point of a 26er with a 42/28 combo, say you keep the same cadence ie 90rpm -a 26er wheel circ is 203cm, a 29er is 230cm, thus (230-203)/203= 17% faster for 29er -42vs39 (39-42)/42= -7% 39 7% slower winner 29er this means that at the same cadence a 29er with 39blade is faster than a 26er with a 42blade, but it still feels you can go bigger/faster with a 29er. please correct me if i'm wrong sorry for the hi-jack viking!
  20. and sooo much better than the scalpel 29er!
