  1. Tankman is uit vir die nightrides. As enige iemand belangstel, sms my asb by 0837575117. As ek niks hoor nie is dit af.
  2. I had Sram X9 on my old bike, never had problems, I thought I was convinced, until last night when I got my new bike with 2012 XT, frikken awesome stuff, never experienced such great/quick/smooth shifting before
  3. Silverback is great value for money. I got my Giant 29er last night, I thought I was a Sram fan, but 2012 Shimano XT is frikken awesome!
  4. Got my baby today!! 2012 Giant XTC 0 29er Rapide is my dad's 29er
  5. First Ascent are always decent, a long sleeve is less than R500
  6. Oakley South Africa, check out their FB page, ask them to email you or phone them, excellent service and good prices. My Radar lenses where like R500, earsocks R65 a pop
  7. Ons wag vir almal, almal welkom
  8. As niemand keen is vir Donderdag dan maak ons dit Vrydag!
  9. "night" ride this week?
  10. I don't like my Olympics that much, I wished I had rather sent R200 more for a pair of Specialized shoes, especially if you are not a beginner/firsttime buyer
  11. Silverback is the best value for money bike you can get. For me the NB points are a Hollowtech II crank and don't settle for less than a Rock Shox Recon Air fork, I think Silverback has an option like that in the R7000 price class
  12. There were some previous discussions, you can go search for them, but the censensus was that XTR are the ones to have
  13. Valid point, my brein is sif geleer, jammer Better check a frame for cracks regularly
  14. Summit has a 2year warranty on the frames, so can't be... Big up to Dominic
  15. Dear Ma and Pa, I am well. Hope you are. Tell my boetie Wouter and my other boetie Koos that being in the Army beats working for Oom Piet by a mile. Tell them to join up quick before maybe all of the places are filled. I was restless at first because you got to stay in bed till nearly 6 am, but am now starting to enjoying sleeping late. Tell Wouter and Koos all you do before breakfast is smooth your cot and shine some thing. No varke to feed, no cows to milk, no mampoer to mix or braai wood to split. Practically nothing. Manne get to shave but it is not so bad, there's warm water. Breakfast is strong on fruit juice, pap, eggs, bacon, etc, but short on steaks, boerewors, chops, potatoes and other regular food like vetkoek. But tell my boeties you can always sit between two dorpies that live on coffee. Their food plus yours holds you till noon, when you get fed again. These city boys can't walk much. We go on "route" marches, which the Sersant says are long walks to harden us. If he thinks so, it is not my place to tell him different. A "route march" is about as far as to our postbox at home. Then the dorpies from the city get sore feet and we all ride back in trucks. The country is nice, but awful flat. This next will kill my boeties with laughter. I keep getting medals for shooting. I don't know why. The bulls-eye is near as big as a dassie's head and doesn't move at all. And it isn't shooting back at you like those bliksemse Venter boys from the next door plaas. All you have to do is lie there all rustig like and hit it. You don't even have to make your own cartridges. They come in boxes. Then we have what they call hand-to-hand combat training. You get to wrestle with the dorpies from the city. I have to be really careful though, they break real easy. It's not like fighting with Swart Duivel our old bull at home. I'm about the best they got in this platoon except for that Groot Jan Jordaan from somewhere in the Noord Transvaal. He joined the same time as me. But I am only 5'6" and 130 pounds and he is 6'8 and weighs over 300 pounds, dry. Be sure to tell my boeties to hurry and join before other okes find out about the Army setup and come stampeding in! Your loving daughter, Ester
  16. I was more thinking a long the line of if you were to upgrade, one would like the best weight and strength combo for your money. I like my bike as strong as possible, not a weight weenie
  17. Does anybody know the weight of the Giant wheelset? I see the Mavics are 1755g which is not exactly light I suppose, compared to a Hope/Crest Combo of 1550g
  18. Squirt FTW!

  20. Look at the geometry, but compare the effective top length (parallel to the ground) and not the actual length

  23. yes me! haha i wish! to busy with studies. when does this has to be finalised? My brother is very talented, finishing school this year, so currently having a good rest before base training again. He is a MTBer and in Stellenbosch though... He has a buddy also looking for a oppertunity MTB or Road? Situated? I see you are in Pretoria
  24. I have mine American. Whatever floats your boat. Braking is all on instinct. I prefer it American because my right hand is dominant, in an emergency I won't summersault over the bars, only reason.
