  1. Good luck to all riders doing the TransBav repeat today🤘
  2. Hi Fellow Hubbers I am not sure if this has been covered but help will be appreciated. I have been trying different options supplements for the cape epic this year and I know that time is running out to test as I need to get used to my choice? I was on USN Epic Pro the last few months but bonked twice and really hard (my liggies was uit dat ek hoendervleise kry). I am thinking Cadence Marathon for the start and second bottle and then Cadence Carbo Fuel What are you using that works for you?
  3. There we go @Jewbacca Entry is fully paid so time to start training. Supporting you all the way buddy!!
  4. Its open and beautiful 🤩
  5. That was mine 🤩.
  6. Hi 117. Did you manage to find anything? If not, I can scratch in my parts bin. You can send me a dm.
  7. Hi. We had turn around this weekend because the my started working again.
  8. Morning. My bikes are with naked insurance underwritten by Hollard. Only had good service from them and their app is so easy to use. Good luck finding the right one for you.
  9. Hi. Are you still going strong on LCHF cycling? If so what electrolytes are you using?
  10. I am in for 2020. Lost some weight 2017 to 2018. Properly fell off the wagon 2019.
  11. Pieter jou legend!!!!!
  12. That was mountain biking in its purest form. I will def do it again!!!
  13. HI Guys. Just an update on our LCHF journey. I have lost 8.2kg already and I feel great and it feels like I have tons of energy. It was a month on the 19/08. My wife has lost 5kg. We keep the carbs to a minimum and strive on the fats. I had a 1,5hour serious bike ride today with lots of climbing and I felt great. Thanks again for all the help!
  14. Thanks for the info Dale. I will def try fasting but I will only do that as you said in the first post, after about 2 months. I will drop dead if I try it now! I used to struggle going without food for few hours. Fasting for 6 days is hard core!
  15. When you guys are talking fat is that leaving the piece of fat on the steak or something like frying my eggs in coconut oil? Is there any specific fats that I should be adding to my diet? I got deurmekaar by the protein and thought that I am eating fat by ordering the steak with a nice piece of fat.
  16. Hi Guys! I told my wife this evening that this why I love the hub so much! I really appreciate all the advice and help! I am excited to start the journey. Is there a time that I know that my body has converted to use fat or will I just start feeling better? When you guys are talking about fasting, is it eating nothing just drinking water or how does it work? Not such a nice question but is it natural to be constipated when starting the diet?
  17. HI Hubbers. I have been reading this thread to see if I can gather some info to help me. I will appreciate any inputs and help. Long story short: I got some bad news regarding my back and need to lose weight, lots of it. I used to weigh 110kg and the specialist said I need to weigh 10% under my ideal weight which is about 80kg. I have lost about 6kg from the 19th of July. I really cut down on carbs and it seems to work but I used to eat a big bowl of oats before I go out for a ride longer than 2h's. Longer than that I would eat Jungle bars to keep me fueled. One of my main concerns is bonking when I cycle because of my body being use to the carbs. What do you guys eat on the bike? The other thing I read that does not make sense is the fact that you should not take in alot of protein. I thought you must pack in the protein, mix in the fat and cut the carbs. As I said before any help would be appreciated to get where I need to be. Stephan
  18. Hi hubbers. Does anybody know when we will be able to purchase the 11speed xt parts in SA? At those prices its worth going that route instead of 1x10 with the 42t cassette adaptor and narrow wide chain ring.
  19. It is quite tight, I struggle to open it again. I replaced the cheap no name skewer with a shimano one. So I will post tomorrow and tell you if it worked. Thanx V12 man for the help with photos.
  20. This scares me. Especially when I saw your helmet. Glad your OK druffster.
  21. Hi hubbers. I had to sort out my brakes and we are in the middle of nowhere with the closest lbs 400km away. The brakes were spongy and squealing and did not even come close to stopping me. The previous owner of the bike tried to bleed them and spilled oil on the pads. I took the pads out and placed them on a baking tray and grilled them for 30 min. At first they were smoking as the oil came out. I took them out sanded the black off with a fine sanding paper and placed them in for another 30 min. I went down to my local build-it and co-op to buy all the necessary bleeding goodies. Here are the steps I followed. Remove the caliper from your frame and remove the brake pads. Open the bleeding port on the lever and screw in the irrigation fitting with the little piece of pipe. Fit the smaller syringe at the top. Pull some mineral oil into the bigger syringe and place its pipe over the bleeding nipple at the caliper. Open the bleeding nipple just enough that a small amount of mineral oil can pass through. Start pushing the oil to the top. You will see the old oil emerge at the top and the bubble will start to pop out. I went on with this until the red shimano oil appeared. Close the bleeding nipple at the caliper. By replacing the syringe plunger you will not spill oil when pulling it out at the lever. I threw the old oil away. Replace the empty syringe without its plunger. Open the nipple and continue pressing oil to the top. Once you are happy that there are no new bubbles forming and its new oil you can close the bleeding nipple and take the big syringe off. Squirt the excess oil back into the oil container and replace only the piece of pipe to the bleeding nipple. Open the bleeding nipple slowly that oil can run back through the system and into the pipe over the caliper nipple. That way you bled it to both sides and all the air should be out. When you're happy that all air is out, close the bleeding nipple, take off the pipes and the small syringe and replace the bleeding port screw. Make sure that the port screw has its o ring on. Throw the excess oil form the small syringe back into the shimano container. Replace the pads and the center the caliper by pumping the brakes and holding them while you fasten the caliper bolts. BOOM, Bobs your uncle. This worked for me and I am not a qualified bike mechanic so use it or don't use it. Please ask if there's any questions or if you are not quite sure what I mean. Happy riding
  22. Hi guys. Thanx for all the feedback. I have a cheapish skewer. One that you probably get in a lucky packet. I am scared of pulling the skewer too tight because I can only imagine what happens when it fails Looks like the inside of the fork is to plain with no grooves or slot where the wheels fits in. I'll take pics and try to upload them. How do I upload them?
  23. Good evening fellow hubbers. Please assist me with my small problem that makes me absolutely mad. Every time I go hard on my front brakes the wheel pulls to the left stanction and I have to open the quick release to get it in the original position. I realized that the wheel moves to the side because the quick release is slipping. Its on my training bike that has a Suntour 29er fork on. Please help me think what i can do to sort it out.
  24. Does anyone know when the replays will be on dstv??
  25. I would suggest checking your pedals. That sorted out my ticking noice. Fit a old or other pair and go for a ride.
