  1. A chap got upset when I implied that R400 for an entry is a bit unreasonable. Add another R300 to that..........
  2. Absolutely agree, don't think you'll get one though.
  3. In 20 years from now you will look back and wont think about the R20k it cost you but about the experience it was. I spoke to a number of riders that said that they would pay R40k for the feeling you get when crossing the finish line. So in 73 days i"ll be able to tell if that is in fact true.
  4. Following the tour on bicycle and doing a climb or two in between.
  5. My 2cents worth, I've had the new XT for a while now and really enjoying it. It looks much better than the old. To agree with the hubbers above, the brakes are awesome. Smooth and soft and really good on hard breaking. And if the old XT is anything to go by in terms of reliability it should outlast the X9.
  6. A few weeks ago they seated us at the end of one of those long tables, and another group of people at the other. We didn't know these people from a bar of soap. After about two hours of Sh$%%y service the bill arrives with everything on one bill, our group as well as the one at the other end. After about 30min of shouting and screaming they eventually sorted it out. Not going back anytime soon. Teak: please get you act together!!!!!
  7. What works best for me is to totally degrease everything. Chain, casette, derailleur and all else. When everything is clean I just apply Squirt which is a dry lube. I find that it works well, especially on my road bike.
  8. No probs, the roads are so stretched out and flat that you can see/hear cars coming from 10 miles away. And mostly it's local farmers so very considerate with the odd wave here and there.
  9. Great stuff Squier. I was there for Easter and was really good. After an injury I'm not yet allowed mtb"ing but the tar is just as good. For anyone interested, I did the loop from Gariep-Bethulie-Venterstad-Gariep. Really enjoyed it. I did take a wring turn-off and ended up in Oviston which added a extra 20km or so, ended doing 161km.
  10. I have a similar story as well. Mine happened at the bike park over that last and the heighest wooden bridge. As most would know, that last bridge is a bit of a longer incline to the top. About 2m before the top my chain broke and just then and there I knew I was in big k@k. It was fairly muddy and cleating out wasn't easy. As I was falling over I tried to grab the bridge which wasnt succesful and I went down breaking the tibia and fibia in my right leg. Worst feeling on a bike indeed.
  11. On my new bike (2nd hand, but it's new for me).
  12. Awesome. Wonder how many broken bones in his life.

  16. SO if you were a betting man/lady, who would your money be on between Pakistan and Canada? Paksitan all out for 184.
  17. Eish, here comes a cat fight.
  18. My arguement exactly. With this said, surely it makes quite a big difference.
  19. And another one bites the dust.
  20. Seeded A, but I broke my leg two weeks ago.
  21. Speaking of the Conti's, which is best between the UST's and the Supersonics? CRC is out of stock on the UST's and i'm in a bit of a hurry.
  22. I'm gonna check it out. Hoe later hoe kwater.
  23. At R5 per km I would've probably just told the security guard what idiot he is and drive back home.
