  1. Noticed this as well.
  2. Sounds good. Please make sure you get out to Giba Gorge, Karkloof, Holla Trails and Clearwater Trails in the KZN area
  3. The older copies of the mag are available on the Tread website.
  4. I recently subscribed to Tread and got my first issue in the post yesterday Does anyone have these problems with other magazine subscriptions / is it specific to Tread? Personally, I always get my Bicycling mag, but had issues with my Ride subscription a few years back.
  5. Also just rinse mine in the shower. Haven't had any problems with my strap in the 3 or so years I've used it.
  6. Had the same problem last night mounting a crossmark onto a WTB rim. Was pulling all kinds of constipated faces but couldn't get the stupid thing on. Eventually I found a cool trick - rest the wheel & tyre on the ground with the bit you need to seat at the top of the wheel. Then pull back on the unseated part of the tyre while gently pushing down on the tyre and rolling it from side to side. Seems to compress the bit that's already seated and give you a bit of play to pull the unseated part over the rim.
  7. Was this to mount on a UST tyre on a UST rim? I'm using UST tyres on non-UST rims and haven't been able to mount it with just a floor pump yet
  8. Thanks for the response guys. I went past Makro again and they have a few of these general purpose compressors available ranging from 27l/min to about 170l/min, but I'm tending to agree that it's that initial burst that really makes the difference so without some sort of tank, I'm barking up the wrong tree. Decided to do the honourable thing and ... return my dinky-toy compressor for a refund They did also have a 24l big-daddy compressor, but that's take up too much room and I wouldn't exactly call it portable
  9. Apparently that's the output / flow rate. 27 litres of air per minute??? I was reading somewhere yesterday that C02 bombs output at 30 litres per minute, but don't know if that's the only aspect that I need to focus on when looking into these dinky compressors?
  10. I plan to use the compressor mainly for tubeless setup purposes and don't want to have to take my wheels to the garage every time I need to re-seat the tyres
  11. Just a pump.
  12. Hey Guys, Had planned to convert the Mrs' wheelset to tubeless this weekend so went down to Makro and bought an entry level Autoquip air compressor (27 litres / min output) to help with seating the tyres. Wanted to get a compressor that I can also cart around with me and use when camping / 4x4'ing, so one of those big jobbies is out of the question. Problem is when it came to inflating the tyres, there just wasn't enough pressure to get the bead to seat properly. Eventually had to use a C02 cartridge to get it right. So, my question is will one of these compressor's actually work for seating tubeless tyres, and if so, what's the minimum spec required? Cheers, Paulo
  13. I'm in the same boat and I've been advised to go for the medium as it'll be a lot more fun to ride than a large. Anyone have any opinions on this?

Yet another good story bout CWC If only all businesses could be run this way.
  16. Terrible news Chris. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family during this difficult time.
  17. Isn't there some sort of citing process that they can report the kid to like they have in rugby. There should be enough footage to back-up a prolonged ban until this kid gets his head on straight.
  18. Well, you can choose to either sort the classifieds by Date Listed / Last Comment, so bumping would bring your ad to the top for the people that prefer to use the Last Comment sort.
  19. Not sure of routes in Toti, but 2 places you should really check out are Giba Gorge in Pinetown and Holla Trails in Ballito. Definitely worth the trip.
  20. Recently replaced my Truvativ 5D crankset with an SLX crankset. My Truvativ cranks lasted forever and never really had any problems with them. SLX seems to help shift a bit easier up front, but I did also replace my chain at the same time so it could be a combo of new cranks and chains that assist the better shifting. Apparently there's not much difference between XT and SLX although apparently the XT is a bit lighter (and hence less durable) than the SLX.
  21. Nice! Would love to be in his predicament
  22. Excellent - Thanks Admin
  23. Anyone else having issues with the site not remembering which threads they've visited? Started happening yesterday. I've tried in Firefox and IE and same behaviour happens on both, so I doubt it's a permissions thingy.
  24. A guy at work just keeps saying 'yes' to every question. That's what every sales guy wants to hear so they get all excited and start taking down details but when you give them first name 'yes', surname 'yes, etc. they get a bit frustrated. Then when they ask 'Can you understand me?' or 'Do you speak english?' you say 'yes' again and the fun start all over. For extra fun put them on speaker and let the whole office listen in
