  1. Kudos for finishing the ride bro! That's a good one to have under the belt and it was for a good cause so hopefully Santa brings you some nice prezzies this year
  2. So how did it go Stu? Can you walk today?
  3. Que?!?!? Where's this single track?
  4. I think the key thing is to manage expectations. Bonus are normally loosely defined in the contract, so employees expect the best and employers try to contain costs. Both sides have a valid case so it's just about finding the happy middle ground in most cases. Miscommunication (or total lack of communication) is where tempers get frayed.
  5. Awesome story - thanks for the laugh
  6. Nope - that's my bike. Just like to take good care of her
  7. LOL! After their 90's ab-crunch gimmicky thing I've never bought another Verimark product again
  8. Thanks - saw that in the shops before. I've got some of their Ultimate Compound but will give this a try as well.
  9. Hey Guys, Had a few nasty falls on the weekend and as a result my bike has a few scratches in the paintwork. Nothing too serious, but I'd like to get rid of the scratches. Any suggestions? Cheers, Paulo
  10. Sounds awesome. Any side effects / precautions?
  11. I take it you were dealing with the same people that helped out the first time so they'd have the full context? Also, it always helps to explain the urgency to make sure the shop knows they need to speed things up. This doesn't need to involve opening a can of whipass - just explain the predicament and your frustration. If you don't say anything, then they assume it can just follow the normal process.
  12. Excuse the ignorance, but does that mean that with Powasol you don't need to use all sorts of weird brushes to get into all the nooks and crannies? if so, I'm going to pick some up asap!
  13. I tend not to use bike washes at races / trail centres because they generally use high pressure hoses liberally and they'll do a rushed job to get through the queues. Also, I'm normally in a hurry to get back home so I don't have time to sit and wait. When washing my bike I normally use a car shampoo with a combo of cloths / brushes and degreaser to clean up the drive train. If I've got time I'll give the bike the Macguires treatment as well
  14. Excellent! I'm looking for some stocking fillers for myself
  15. It's not the first time Dragon's service has been questioned on thehub. There was a paint warranty issue a while back that also went unresolved as far as I can remember. If I was them I'd be on here giving my side of the story to save face. Just look at how Andrew and Chris take the effort to reply to complaints about their shops. Goes a long way to re-assuring customers and building your brand.
  16. That must have hurt!!!!
  17. I'm finding that the majority of bike sites don't offer functionality that will really help me find what I'm looking for. What'd be really useful for me: 1) Advanced filtering system like Wiggle has where you can narrow down whether you're looking for Road / MTB, Male / Female, even 9-speed / 10 speed, etc. This would save a significant amount of time and hassle. 2) Sorting results by various fields like price, popularity, discount, etc. It's surprising how many sites don't offer this. 3) Full product description, with useful info like warranty, year / model, intended use, certifications, weight etc. 4) Specials clearly shown on the homepage (and regularly updated please ). Anyone else got any ideas? Hopefully Santa will be kind this year
  18. Heh heh heh - just found a link to this thread on Pinkbike! Nice work JB
  19. Gerald missed one point with regards CSA doing something about the race fees. If we didn't have to pay a R30 CSA day license, the overall cost of the event would drop substantially. Why should CSA get money for races that they admit they have no part in?
  20. Holy moly! How big is the wrench at the top right hand corner of your tool board!?!
  21. For XC I'd recommend that you don't use knee guards
  22. It amazes me how these agencies are getting paid big bucks to build a brand and then they outsource to a 3 year old to actually do the work. Anyone seen the new Alexander Forbes logo (my link). Wonder how much the agency got paid to do that
  23. Ugly bike. Terrible spec. I can see why you want to get rid of it. I'll give you R2000 to take her off your hands
  24. Was that 2nd hand? I paid R2500 for my S720i (new) about 3 years ago. Didn't come with a cadence sensor, so depending on how old the Polar and what's included in the package, the price may be fair.
  25. Heard his name quite a bit recently, but wasn't around when he was dominating in the past. Why did he disappear for a few years?
