  1. Heard his name quite a bit recently, but wasn't around when he was dominating in the past. Why did he disappear for a few years?
  2. Heard there was a bike store out that way. Who is it?
  3. In both cases, the shifter cable was basically jammed inside the mechanism. It involved fiddling with the cable to release it. Obviously had to replace the shifter cable so in the interests of not making the same mistake again I'd like to stop doing whatever is causing this
  4. Hey Guys, A while back I got my Deore shifter cable stuck in the shifter housing. It happened while moving it over to my new bike and I figured that it was because I had not replaced the grub screw before trying to shift (i.e. the cable head had tried to sneak out the open hole as opposed to following the normal path inside the housing). It also happened to a friend of mine last weekend while we were riding, and I noticed that his grub screw was also missing. Is a missing grub screw enough to cause the cable to get stuck? Cheers, Paulo
  5. My completed Zula upgrade, after a bit of tender Meguiars loving.
  6. Everyone swears by Assos, but they're pricey. Specialized make very nice bibs. Fit me perfectly and very comfy on long rides. But then again, this is a personal matter so what works for other people may not work for you.
  7. oops - missed the 'i've done nothing' part.
  8. Sounds like you need to adjust the limit screws to allow for the proper range of motion.
  9. R2295 for a derailleur?!?!? What was that guy smoking? Surely working in a bike shop you should have a rough idea of what an item should cost??
  10. Yip - if I do need to overtake I pick a line and calmly let the person know so that they don't get the fright of their lives. "Coming through on the right" comes across a lot better than "keep left". Fully agree that there's no rule saying keep left, pass right. Each person has the right to pick which line they want to ride on.
  11. I hate sites that pop-up a dialog without giving you a means to dismiss it. I wont be going back to that site again.
  12. Wow! Good work Rodders.
  13. Shew - that blows what I though I knew about pedal strokes out the water. Makes sense though. Thanks for sharing!
  14. Pity bout the service. The site looks good. Anyone else dealt with them before? Strange that I've never heard of / come across this site before.
  15. Looks like there was too much hype around the site. Oops.

  17. Eat some pies It's about calories. If you're burning them, your body will want to replace them, so monitor your weight over a few days. If you're not putting on weight, then eat without feeling bad about it!
  18. At last! Thanks for the heads up
  19. Awesome! Glad to see it all worked out. As previously mentioned, use this situation to your advantage and keep the relationship going with the guys at the shop.
  20. Eish! That can't be good out on the trail. Could only be a loose stem connection onto the steerer that's causing that as far as I know. Loosen up all the bolts on the stem's steerer clamp and the steerer top cap. Then make sure everything is lined up properly and tighten the top cap nice and snug. Then tighten the bolts on the stem's steerer clamp nice and tight.
  21. Any update on this? I see they're still not up
  22. You started it
  23. Ja - I agree with Sharkie. I reckon all those rim strips are getting in the way. Normally the yellow tape by itself on the rim will do the job.
  24. May a the thorns from a thousand thorn trees find their way into your tyres in your next race!!!!
  25. Well, CyclesOnline came onboard during this time, but they didn't punt enough specials to spike my interest.
