Any experience with the Bontrager Revolt UST? I see they going for R199.95 at the Solomons sale

Oh ja, I saw that, would rather go UST though as I'm planning to do the whole Stans thing. You have that combo hey covie? Any feedback? Did you use the UST for your conversion or just the regular ones?

Apparently you can get them online for about R300 but my LBS stocks them at R600. Chops

Thanks for all the replies guys. I think I'm gonna go Mountain King/Race King. I heard good things about that combo and I also see Covie's riding it so that just proves my point. Anybody cool enough to smoke while cycling gets my vote I hate asking the guys at my LBS these sort of questions, they always act like I'm somehow inferior because I don't know absolutely everything about cycling. . . bunch of chops But, it's 500m from my house so what can I do!? So I do need UST tires, even with the stans?

Can someone please explain to me what all this means? I'm thinking of going tubeless since everybody says its better. I currently have Kenda Karma's on WTB Cross Country Speed Disk wheels. If I want to go tubeless, can I just get the Stan's conversion done or do I need new tires, new wheels etc? I was looking at the Continental Race King on CRC and the UST one is R360 or something and the non UST is R99. Whats the difference? What I've figured out, please correct me if I'm wrong, with the UST ones you don't need the Stans provided you have UST rims as well? Can I run UST tires on non-UST rims? At least untill I can afford to upgrade the wheels? Also, what does folding bead vs Steel bead have to do with all of this? Thanks guys!!

What lights would you recommend overall, I would love to start doing night rides but I'm kinda clueless when it comes to lights.

Oh, I actually forgot to get the dvd, now I'm glad I didn't! Had a look at the tires, The WTB Velociraptors for R49.95, I didn't like them, don't think they'll last very long.

I got a new jersey for R50, they had quite a variety but unfortunately they are all sleeveless, and I'm not too keen on the wifebeaters. For R50 I'll wear it though. Wanted to get something for the GF as well but they don't have anything remotely female so girls, don't bother.

I saw one at Due South today for R150 so I call the sales guy over and asks him if it actually works. He looks at me sorta quesy and asks: "If I tell you it works would you buy one?" I think the Nebraska does come out with XTR cables. But it's difficult to specifically compare the cables on different bikes due to different setups etc. I also have a black bike (GT Zaskar Elite 09) and considering the red cables, but more like a ruby red, I think if you change the colour of the cables it might look cool if you change the crankbolts, rotor bolts (if you have 6bolt) and the jockey wheels all to the same colour. The devil's in the details!

Turns out the guy with the groupset is a fake, theres a website called www.alibabascams.com where they list all of the reported scammers. I searched for Scott Scale 899 on Alibaba and all the suppliers are also on that list. There's another guy on Aliexpress, which is kinda like ebay, who is definately legit but his prices are only marginally better than CRC, shipment is cheaper though. But I'd rather pay a bit more and be sure about the supplier. His name is Dominic Robin if someone wants to check out his store.

Hi, sorry for the hijack but has anybody used the jagwire cables? Would they be considered an upgrade to XTR cables performance wise. I see they are a bit more expensive but price doesn't always = quality. The Merida green would look sweet on a black bike!

I used two of these when I climbed Kilimanjaro a while back, interestingly enough, it also keeps the liquid inside (be it water, energy drink whatever) from freezing. Not that that would be a common problem in SA!!
