  1. There is some interesting science being carried out at the moment on b12 deficiency in meat and animal products at the moment. Because b12 actually originated from cobalt rich soil and not the animal itself, intensively farmed animals are slowly becoming b12 deficient as well. Basically the cow injests some of the soil around the grass it eats and you eat the cow. But if the cow is eating a feed or grain from a trough or feeding machine there is no chance it can eat pieces of the bacteria filled soil necessary for b12. Anywhooo, a simple coffee or cereal once a day with a fortified b12 plant based milk avoids the whole need for supplementation completely.
  2. Hi, When you go to pay for goods and you use the card terminal (we call it an eftpos machine here) you will need to select the Credit card option. Even though you might be using a debit or cheque card, you still need to select CC. This means that some vendors will add 1-3% to the cost of the goods or in some cases some of the smaller shops like the Kafee (we call them dairy's) wont accept CC type transactions. All of the big stores accept them. Getting a cash passport card wont help this as they are seen as CCs too. Generally, having a FNB card and some cash will be more than enough.
  3. Scary times
  4. I'm not sure if you should be using South Park for research purposes.
  5. Just found out I need to attend a conference in April in Las Vegas. Will be my first time going. Any tips?
  6. my wife has a 5s. She runs three times a week with gps and goes to the gym 5 times a week and uses the cardio function. She gets about 7-9 days on a full charge. I think you have a frenemy.
  7. This new conversation has got squat all to do with veganism.
  8. i am a few hours ahead of you guys. Does that mean I have an unfair advantage? [emoji3]
  9. bogus literally said that it can be repaired but he only trusts three people to do it.
  10. respectfully speaking this is an opinion. The professional has stipulated and others have confirmed that the repair is stronger than the original (which has already failed) I agree it is nerve wracking but there is an element of danger in this sport. Plus, insurer has the right to repair so the only choice that you have is to accept the repair or deviate from the signed and agreed policy by doing your own thing. (On mobile app please excuse grammar)
  11. like most businesses are based on an element of trust. Even if there was a regulatory body, you would simply be transferring your trust to them and their qualifications. The legal ramifications for the contractor are still very real so in some respects having a regulatory body can be a moot point.
  12. OP : “Will you repair this?” Industry professional with oodles of experience and qualifications : “Yes” Bunch of people with no experience or qualifications armed only with opinion: “No! We know better and the professional is wrong!!!” This place makes me laugh.
  13. Need some advice based on experience. I have one of these at home https://www.breville.com/us/en/products/espresso/bes980.html and it is absolutely amazing - its sort of ruined other coffee for me when i travel. I was thinking of getting myself something like this for portable use, but not sure if the hype is to be believed. Has anyone got any experience with these? I am specifically not looking at the capsule option. https://www.amazon.com/WACACO-Nanopresso-Portable-Minipresso-Operated/dp/B0797T2FYL/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1N2QZM8FU7FPX&keywords=nanopresso&qid=1574798689&sprefix=nanop%2Caps%2C316&sr=8-4
  14. I was today years old when I learnt I am a millennial. 81 baby. Lets celebrate with Hummus.
  15. fair enough. I don’t live in South Africa. I run on running paths that are not shared with motor vehicles at all. Auckland is way different to South Africa for runners and cyclists.
  16. yep. People walking around staring at phones in cities makes me think of a zombie apocalypse. Although in my case (see post above) I don’t run on train tracks or public roads really. So not sure how the train story applies to my request for headphone advice?
  17. you raise a good point. I would not run with headphones in RSA. Here in Auckland I run on running paths meant for running only. I stick to the left. There are no cyclists or cars. Also, trail running in a forest with good music is absolutely amazing. Given that there is a huge huge running specific headphone category of products to buy, I am guessing I am not the only one?
  18. Thanks for the recommendation. Just out of curiosity, why would you never run outdoors with headphones?
  19. but that’s not what I am asking. I am interested in his thoughts on all parties.
  20. Hey Intern - Not trolling or anything, but I quite like Ardern. In as much as someone can like a politician What are your thoughts on the upcoming election and who are you leaning towards and why? Genuinely interested in your perspective. Whilst I like Ardern and think she is a good ambassador for NZ (she is a PR specialist after all) I do question some of what goes on in the party. I really liked John Key (except for the pony tail thing) but don't really like Bridges much. I know you follow the NZ political scene quite closely so I am quite interested in your opinion and not trying to troll or anything.... I was going to say that you don't have to answer if you want to keep your opinion private but then realized that's not your style LOL
  21. Chaps! Need some help. I own a pair of the Sony WH1000XM3's over the ear headphones. I use them for studying and blocking out my wife. Sometimes at the same time - just kidding (in case she reads this and can work out my username). These headphones are great and I totally prefer them over Sennheiser Momentums and my Grado's (I have a thing for good music and headphones) But for running, I have always run in the Bose sound sport wired headphones - But they no longer make them and now everything is wireless. So because my old trusty wired headphones have been damaged, I recently purchased these.... But they are total garbage - too heavy and don't fit right. I also don't like the cord that bounces on my neck the whole time. So, I am essentially in the market for a new pair of running headphones and I am leaning towards the wireless Sony version of the over the ear WH1000xm3 which are called the WF1000xm3 Has anyone bought these? Or does anyone have any suggestions for a good pair of running headphones? I will also be posting this in the running headphones thread in case those weirdo's don't see this post.

  23. do you work for Interlogic? I know that location well - I have been visiting with Kerry Dines(over the road) for a while trying to close a deal there. Edit : I see on LinkedIn you are at Daifuku
  24. Actually, a further reply from my side. I recently had to write a research paper on neurological biology and specifically methods of treatment for Parkinson's disease. I decided to incorporate a lot of nutrition advice and research and used both the above books (and their relevant sources) quite heavily to offer an alternate position on Parkinson's treatments. It was very well received by my academic community and was suggested as a good research piece for a future doctoral thesis (although I am still some time away from contemplating that level of self punishment) What is interesting is how many illnesses and diseases can be radically affected by diet. Its a fascinating field of research.
