  1. Some new goodies arrived.
  2. I agree with the following: This is a problem that is going to take time to repair and it will get worse before it gets betterMost of the world is going to be effectedI would rather be here than almost anywhere else on earth to recover from the fallout. Kiwis are resilient and the economy reflects that. I am in no way trying to say that things are going to be peachy, but I think NZ will recover faster and better than most. @ Layercake - not to tell you what to do, but of the three destinations you have mentioned, I reckon NZ is probably the best. Timing totally sucks though. Sorry dude. Hope you come right and If there is anything I can do from my end, just shout!
  3. https://www.realestate.co.nz/3719134/residential/sale/4-pennine-way-huntsbury This is nice...
  4. Yeah, thats true to some degree. Although one could make an argument for this being the disruption that is needed. Shared or remote workforces mean a smaller degree of traffic and thats a good thing for most people, those building can hopefully create an opportunity for other projects and a lot of them will simply be repurposed into shared spaces. I certainly would not want to be sitting on a heap of commercial property right now. Historically considered a fairly safe investment, now not so much. Interesting times...
  5. My thoughts...if you were offered a job and could move and start working almost immediately YES. I would rather be here than most countries. Intern is right - things are going to be bleak for a while. But they are going to be bleak everywhere. Some places slightly less than others. I think NZ is one of those places. If you were coming here to look for work in a non highly skilled profession, I don't know if finding work would be that easy. It certainly would be hard to justify to Immigration NZ that there are currently no NZers that could do the work.
  6. Hi Gen! I am so interested in this, what makes it Vegan? Or more to the point, why would a conventional chemical cleaner not be considered vegan? NOT TROLLING! Genuinely curious. Here in NZ we don't have Vegan cleaners, but there are heaps of Environmental Cleaners that are touted to be safer for the environment and using less harsh chemicals. Is this sort of the same thing you are referring to? Or are the Vegan cleaners using ingredients made specifically from plants?
  7. This. We had been looking at buying. Now we are going to sit back and watch for a little while. Where we are looking in Port Hills CHC, we are expecting to see the prices reduce. But now with the situation you outline, maybe a nice lakefront 4 bedroom place in Queenstown is on the menu.... Our company is going to get rid of its big $22k a month offices in Newmarket and encourage people to work from home permanently. We are looking to get a much smaller office with 5-10 desks on a rotation basis and a boardroom for client meetings. Basically a space about a quarter the size of what we had. This means that wifey and I (we work for the same company - Intern knows this) can work anywhere in the country for the same salary.
  8. I bought my daughter a flat pack bunk bed. My back was totalled after 6.5 hours of reading mandarin and building it. #ifeelyourpain
  9. This whole click and collect thing is bonkers - at least, Torpedo7's version of it. I am urgently looking for an ANT+ usb adapter. Torpedo7 are the only ones with stock. I do an online order and a banner pops up on the site saying that if I want it sooner, I should consider click and collect. Given that I am ordering it on Saturday at 7am, i figure, that would work. I place the order. By sunday afternoon, I have heard nothing so I contact Torpedo7 to find out whats going on. They tell me that the device is sitting at the despatch centre to be couriered to the nearedt branch and then they will contact me to collect. The despatch centre is physically located less than 1 km from the branch. So the item timeline is: Order Saturday. Despatch overnight on Monday to travel 1km Unpack and arrange collection by Tuesday Afternoon Collect Wednesday. How exactly is that faster than just having it couriered directly? I dont like being mislead by big corporates and have cancelled my order out of sheer childish spite.
  10. Look, I am far more liberal and left leaning than you and even I think that mayor is a tool. The very nature of business is to make money.
  11. Unless this is your wedding photo, you will NEVER get that thing right. Its from the DEVIL!!!
  12. I am literally posting this award winning journalism just to get you riled up on what I think is a Friday (not really sure anymore) https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12328854
  13. I am a huge fan of ALL Birds shoes. Originally a kiwi thing. I see they have launched an actual running shoe. https://www.runnersworld.com/gear/a32292816/allbirds-tree-dasher-running-shoe-review/ If these are half as good as my normal sneakers I wear, then they will feel amazing.
  14. https://shop.domestique.nz/collections/ant-and-ble-accessories/products/runn-smart-treadmill-sensor That’s what I bought.
  15. i just did my first run with it. It’s great. Picks up cadence as well. Each family member has own Zwift profile with an iPad and we each took a turn to run. Was super easy. Only downside so far is that the iPad does not pick up my heart rate.
  16. Main reason for the Runn over the pod is that wife, me and son all use treadmill. So it would be easier from that angle. I currently run with fenix5x and Garmin hrm-run strap. I might consider getting a Stryd pod in the future. I quite like the one with wind analysis.
  17. So...on the subject of Bali.... I was recently awarded with a prestigious prize from one of my vendors and the prize was an all expense paid trip for me and the MRS to Bali. 5 star all the way. Also was awarded a separate trip to Las Vegas. I had booked a family getaway to Queenstown and another to go house hunting in Christchurch. Whilst I am glad that my family is safe and relatively unscathed by covid - all of these trips have been cancelled. I love travelling more than most things, so I am a little annoyed by all of this. Just venting.
  18. Actually, ZWIFT is something I have been doing some research on lately as I kit out a home gym. I am probably going to get the RUNN device and set it up on our treadmill. Seems to be the easiest way to go about it. Just install it once and BOOM - Smart treadmill. I like the Stryder POD, but can't face paying that amount of money for it. Has anyone actually been running on Zwift (the last post in this thread about it was 2018) ?
