  1. Sure, no problem. I paid $233 for the Plan A essentials. This had a $150 excess and the insurance was valid for 15 days.
  2. I used these guys for my recent travels. Cannot comment on how good they are as I (thankfully) never had to claim. insurance policy wording.pdf

  8. Holy heck man. I need the summer to start already. Need some consistent sunshine in my life. Right, who is going away for December/January holidays and where are you going? #inspireme
  9. Thanks Man! Those pedals were temporary as I waited for the right ones to arrive. I have since upgraded to the best pedals EVA!!! https://www.evocycles.co.nz/Product/286426/shimano-eh500-one-sided-spd-touring-pedal#
  10. Well, after a few years of casual cycling and a stronger focus on running, I may have bought myself a new birthday present which will require more dedication to cycling. Thankfully my new running coach is a monster triathlete and is incorporating more cycling into my program.
  11. You can order a supplementary plate for $30 plus a few bucks extra for a buckle clip holder that you clip on to your bike.
  12. Yo Kiwi Hubbers! I am super excited about this. About to take my kids in their first overnight bike trip. Given it’s their first one and I am trying to make it as fun as possible, I am trying to make it as easy as possible for them. This means I am the packing mule. Does anyone have a bike trailer for carrying luggage I can borrow for Labour weekend? I don’t really want to buy one unless I know they will do this more often.
  13. Ooof. Someones angry at Mr Grant.
  14. Gosh, I could see myself living here.... https://mtcardronastation.co.nz/
  15. My Mrs is travelling on a conference at the moment. She has gone to Hayman Island in Australia. Really close to Hamilton Island. If any of you are looking for a great white sand, blue water kind of holiday - she recommends.
  16. I agree completely. I was talking with a sales guy at Toyota recently and he mentioned it is quite the status symbol to have amongst the Asian immigrants in our community, in particular Chinese people. Kinda like BMWx6's for people from Benoni. I guess (like most things) people can attribute value based on status, but for $100k you can do a lot better if you lose that sort of thinking.
  17. Totally agree that the Alphard is an ugly duckling. Are you sitting down? https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/toyota/alphard/listing/3727764952
  18. yeah, I find the new Carnival looks a lot more like an SUV, drives like a car and has the space of a van. It really surprised me. So much so, I ordered one.
  19. Yep. that’s what I ended up doing. I was offered an insanely good trade in price on my RAV4. Ended up buying a new Kia Carnival. I am now officially a van driver.
  20. ok, need some help from the kiwi hubbers... My in laws are coming for a few weeks from Jozi. They will be here from Christmas to Mid Jan. We are planning on doing a few little mini breaks in amongst local moving around and I am trying to get my hands on a 8 seater+ car. I have looked at rentals, but almost had a heart attack when the quotes were around $4k plus. One option is a car subscription for a month that works out quite cost effective at around $1,500 for the month. Then I wondered if anyone has a 8 seater car that we can do a swop with my new Toyota Rav 4 Hybrid for a few weeks? Naturally, we put each other on the insurance plan and so on...
  21. Bring your kids to my place for a day and you and T can take a day to go do stuff...lord knows you are in SEVERE babysitting credit with me.
  22. I have a full set of Pedro's bike tools and live in Orewa on the north shore. You are welcome to use the tools and a few of us get together and we can watch you build it whilst critiquing you? (nah, will help you build it up) can even help with tubeless setups and everything.
