  1. Let him ride and suffer. I did it as a laaitie and don't regret it one bit The first one will always be special no matter the conditions.
  2. I can back you on this one. I have often passed traffic officials monitoring this on ramp while riding onto the N1 there and gotten a friendly wave on the way. The bike path is (very sadly) not a suitable alternative unfortunately when alone due to the "opportunists" around..
  3. Not chaos at all! Loads of parking and traffic is generally a breeze.
  4. Let's be honest... the 21.1km is the race that kind of "makes" the Two Oceans the race it is though
  5. That would require them being able to run...
  6. Ah, I think you are in fact correct! *Western Cape born and bred
  7. Provides huge support to Ash overseas with racing and training thrown in. Good oke!
  8. He is a Cape Town boy born and bred.... The boy is absolute POWER at the moment.
  9. I have a seeding index of 1.05 and not even in $..... :/
  10. That is normally what happens in a time trial...
  11. Last year was also a mess with putting to many people in $ who didn't belong there.... Seems this year they have made the % the big one?
  12. If they are really keen then why don't they do some fundraising for a charity entry.... They still have time.
  13. Yeah - all entered and ready to go!
  14. Will greatly depend on your overall physical condition because that determines the state you are in when you start the run...
  15. The day before the Argus? Really?
  16. Maybe on the long route
  17. Haha, was there really a sign mentioning the 24km distance?
  18. Looks like not much wind at 11km/h with gusts of 16km/h?
  19. On Jailbreak you are limited to your own supplies or physically stopping at water tables right?
  20. Looking for a sub 6 hour rider if anyone is looking for a ride?
  21. Usually can come and go freely. Last year all the prisoners visitors were arriving during the race, which I have never experienced to be an issue as it is handled extremely well but one of the reasons for the day change this year. As long as it is the same as previous years she should be able to leave and then return.
  22. If you going with the goal of a big result then the assumption would be you would be doing it on very good form and on this assumption a tri bike will make you faster.
  23. It is a toughie - I would say the max is far mentally tougher than the 70.3. Very few spectators on the run course, flat and windy bike, and a pretty competitive field. Also very hot - remember it hitting 35 degrees on the run 2 years ago. The shorter one overlaps the max in time and routes and looks a vibe (have yet to do the short one) Awesome race, very well organised and great routes. Going to be a goodie!!
  24. Awesome - thanks for the heads up!
