  1. Baby steps.... excuse the pun
  2. just import it bud; amazing how importers and shops put the responsibility on you as the client to phone 20 different people to get 20 different answers and the pay a whopper of a premium on top of it. retail in SA needs to shape up or do what business do that don't....
  3. Double down on your updates!! how on earth can something like this irritate someone; just stop clicking on the thread if its such a pain. Hope that little one fattens up like a champ!

    The mysterious competition Canyon.
  6. I've spent 150 randelas on things with far worst odds!
  7. No worries, in general I'm a pretty nice and accomodating guy out on the trails.
  8. thanks for the lecture; as you were.
  9. the ps part is exactly what we were all talking about right from the beginning till it became a "prevailing attitude" comment.
  10. Seeing that we are doing selective qouting; would you mind showing us "fun riders" the left hand side of "sandy single track"
  11. Think you chaps obviously ignored the rest of sentence; the issue is not making space for a guy. The issue is dont shout at other riders to get out of their way, when 1: its single track on which they are moving at a pretty good clip 2: racing in another way shorted distance and feeling frisky is all good; but dont shout at me from 20 m away to pull up and deadstop, if you want to mix 30 km racing snakes with marathon distance riders, then accept the above. 3: the specific situation we were 7 riders moving at the same pace, were everyone suppose to stop and pull over every 15 m for these guys to come past. Nope
  12. Get what you mean on the hill, but thats part and parcel of mtb; same as the climb last year at Epic behind Vondeling- not a single person (pros included) could ride it. As for the second part- yip, had some 30k "racing snake" youngster also shouting left right and center for everyone to move over for them on the sandy single track next to that lovely green river.... you want to pass.... get past on your own.
  13. Dibs on sponsoring these two guys, taking out a second morgage- but we are kicking ass next year in pro circuit!
  14. A bit of a tip of the hat need to go to Lombard from Bloemendal who is pushing and facilitating all the route developments.
  15. Timing issue?
  16. My legs are shouting profanities at me!!
  17. suggest you order and pay for a truckload of them this evening before Jake-the-trousersnke Zuma closes the meeting with the top 6- rand is about to take a bloody nosedive again.
  18. https://www.bikehub.co.za/features/_/gear/insight/gear-check-scott-sram-mtb-racings-epic-essentials-r6337 Anyone at the finish line going to tell Nino's his shades look like ****..... didnt think so.
  19. I have spoken to a hand full of guys who competed very close to this level of sprint distance; without fault they all said "sure, I am fit enough to do the distance; but at what cost?" In sprint they compete on a regular basis, on half -iron its quarterly, on ironman; two or three events a year. Unlike athletes (sic) like myself; they design their preparation 6 -12 months in advance to peak; I agree Richard will skop gat in the distance, but they dont rock up to just compete... if he cant give it a shot at podium, he wont. So 12 month prep and leaving olympic distance focus will then be needed. Think thats why most of them dont chop and change the distances they compete in; operative word; compete not complete.
  20. You're the one moaning about bad planning etc.... we can only assume you already have a solution as well.....
  21. I'm in agriculture, and there are fires starting in the most random places, most of them in locations where trucks cant easily access. Stellenbosch, Paarl, Wellington, Overberg- literally a weekly thing.
  22. western cape have been under fire since November last year; very likely a large chunk of the fires have been started deliberately over the course of the last few months. They seem to appear in sets of 3 or 4 on the exact same day spread all over....
  23. total *** that they couldnt plan the wind better; or call in the army to suppress those pesky poor people; or sorting out all those fires smoking up the place......
  24. in winter..... thats going to end well.
  25. even better; some conspiracy theories; fake wind videos and unanswered questions. (doubling down on the popcorn)
