I am a McLaren fan and use to be really stoked about LH. He started off great and was actually humble once upon a time before he won the title in 2008. Its been going downhill from there and I am actually glad to see him leave. I miss the days when Kimi rode for McLaren. He's a great driver. I am looking forward to next season.

I had a similar experience while in Germany. I saw a boy about 5 years old cycling in the middle of the road. A double decker bus came up behind the boy and kept a clear distance of about 10m from the boy. I was gobsmacked. For one I could not believe the boy was cycling by himself and I was amazed that the driver patiently remained behind the boy. This is an example real respect for another person.

The principle is great and I think it is a move in the right direction. Enforcement will still be an issue, but if a motorist does hit a cyclist whilst breaking this law it could spell serious trouble for him.

You get to work much faster on the road bike than on the MTB, however it reduces the value of a training ride. The road bike is less versatile than the MTB and you need to be much more careful where you ride.

Hi Puncheur I couldn't do the ride this week. Went on a Harley Davidson rally to Lamberts bay with my Father in law. Not often I get the opportunity to do 120km/h on a two wheeler. I was hoping to do a few more races but work and family commitments have made it difficult. I might do the Langebaan race in November. How did the race go?

Great, I am glad to hear that! I was going to offer to take you through the N1 section, but I only commute by bike twice a week (usually Tuesdays and Thursdays) and my times leaving work varies quite a lot. Give me a shout if you need someone to guide you through the N1 route.

So Steffi have you taken the route along the N1 yet? If so, how did it go?
