  1. I am aware that rider error contributes and that in this instance I learned the hard way. However this is the first time I have experienced this problem, to this degree and I think the chain slip is "over sensitive" (for a lack of a better word.) I think it can be improved if not solved completely.
  2. Thanks all! I will see if I can get it sorted and test it out over the weekend.
  3. The rewards are tomorrow. I assume only then.

England getting a bit of a hiding. Prior and Cook did put up a fight though.
  5. In the race today my chain fell off 4 times. Was a bit annoying and I really don't want to have it happen during Die Burger. With the rolling hills I found myself staying mostly on the big chain ring and every now and again there's a steep roller for which I geared down to 2nd or 3rd on the cluster while I was on the big chain ring. Then if I shifted over to the small chain ring, the chain would drop off completely. If switched from the large to small chain ring while being in 5th on the cluster, I was fine. Is there something I can do to prevent the chain from falling off. Your help is appreciated. Thanks
  6. Yeah, lost the bunch twice. Not cool
  7. Capcha, thanks again for the lift. I really didnt want to take the drive back myself. Enjoy the 94.7
  8. Had a lekker ride, loved the scenery. My chain fell off 4 times . Kind of messed up the racing element, but allowed for nice site-seeing. Have to get that chain shifting sorted out before Die Burger.
  9. CRC is doing good business and does have a very effective business model. Essentially CRC is all about money, nothing more and nothing less. The author does have a valid point in that CRC does nothing for the local cycling community, except supply cheaper components to the cyclists. They do not provide technical assistance, sponsor events, etc. Whether this is right or wrong... Each to his own.
  10. Nope, I hate IDTs. I've borrowed one and did about 10min on it and never again. I've been told that the entire race is just rolling hills.
  11. I know exactly what you are talking about, and I believe the rollers are not going to help.
  12. Thanks. I got sorted with Capcha
  13. Capcha, do you have space for the bike? I have a towbar mounted bike rack that I could bring along, that is if you have a towbar ofcourse.
  14. Anybody want to ride together to the race on Saturday morning? I am based in Plattekloof / Edgemead area
  15. I saw a reference to race number collection somewhere. As far as I understand normal PPA numbers apply. Is this correct? I know there is the registration process just before the race, I just don't want any surprises when I get there.
  16. Well you could upload the exercises but it will be a real pain in the but...
  17. For some or other reason several of the participants in the challenges just disappeared. In the commuters challenged only 3 remained. Where did the rest all go to?

I must say, I have huge respect for Clarke, even though he is an Aussie. Probably his standout characteristic is that he will always go for a win, even if the possibility is very small. He is a really positive captain and always challenges the opposition.
