  1. I am aiming to do a 3h30 from U group. Last year only the first 45 guys from U group rode under 3h30. So I will probably have to be a pace setter to hit that target. The split times are very useful

    Argus Expo

Will check it out this evening after work. Looking forward to it!
  3. Yesterday morning I had a lekker experience. The South Easter was pumping, which means a head wind into town for me. A roadie came passed and I was able to slip him. The guy kept a decent pace and didn't mind me slipping him. Was real friendly and made my ride a lot easier.

    Argus tire pressure

Say your rim is designed to withstand 20 bar and the tyre is designed to withstand 10 bar. Which one dictates? I think it would be the tyre. If your comfort level is best at 8 bar, then your comfort level dictates the tyre pressure. The rim's designed pressure is but one consideration, even though a very important consideration.
  5. It might be my browser then, even though it is a recent version of Firefox? I tried again, but no access. Either way not concerned.
  6. I tried those olx links and they are no longer active. Must have been a scam.

    Argus Race Check list!

If you drive into town, make sure you load up the bike. It could be a long walk...
  8. Agreed, you can never be visible enough. When I started commuting to work I immediately got me some decent lights.
  9. Raceface, thanks for sorting it out!
  10. I did that, but when I wanted to download the site said the following Argus file.bmp
  11. raceface can you perhaps email me the file? For some or other reason the site does not give me access to download it.
  12. DissyLizzy Thanks for all the effort. I can see it took quite a bit of time to compile on the information. Well done! Must say it is a great motivation and I have often been tempted to ride longer just for the sake of the challenge. However, I don't want to mess up my Argus training at the moment.
  13. I would strongly recommend it, but it does seem strange. Many people have queried and been reseeded without having paid anything. Why would you need to pay to be reseeded? Either your rightful seeding is E or its not. Something sounds fishy to me.
  14. I am aiming for under 3h30. It would take some doing, but if there is a nice bunch its certainly possible. I think the U group bunch will cruise in under 4 hours. Hopefully I can be positioned well to be with the front runners
  15. I am joining you in U bunch. What time are you aiming for?
  16. I'd also be keen for the DC. Would have to start sewing seeds with my wife now already. She's fed up with cycling and the Argus as it is.
  17. Just say you were being consistent
  18. Well done. Impressive bit of work!
  19. I am pleasantly surprised that the seeding run has already been completed. In the past near Argus time seedings were the last thing on the PPA's mind. Quite chuffed with the results. From the beginning of January to today I have moved from P group to I group. Will see what the next spring season has in store. edit: Typo
  20. Seems like you are right. This is from their website: Malmesbury Rotary Funride and MTB Please note: This event has been cancelled, watch this space for another event in it’s place!
  21. As cyslists we tend to be very critical of motorists and most think the driver guilty of reckless driving, we want someone to blame. However, we know nothing of the circumstances. In this instance, sadly the cyclist is dead and cannot speak for himself. We have nothing to refute what the driver says and witnesses might confirm or refute his story. Let us not be the judge without knowing the facts. Sometimes cyclists do stupid things that places their own lives in danger, and I speak of experience. When I was 8 years old I crossed a road thinking I could beat a car through an intersection. I was wrong and he probably hit me at 40-60km/h (was a fast road 80-100) I was fortunate with only minor injuries despite going head first into the windscreen. The driver was completely innocent. However, had I passed away would people have thought, stupid kid or stupid driver?
  22. I noticed that on my club rides endomondo takes the overall duration of my ride i.e. it includes my 30-40 minute coffee break before my 10km return home ride. So if you want to make it time based, it suits me just fine. I'll just push the coffee break to an hour plus.
  23. My guess is only after the Argus and perhaps not even then. There is one more race after the Argus and it could well be that the seeding run is only done then. Right now the PPA is flooded with organising the Argus therefore the seeding run is not a priority at the moment. Also the PPA seeding does not influence any races at the moment. I am also keen to find out what my latest seeding is, but I don't expect it until the end of March.
  24. More like wishful thinking...
  25. Yeah, it is great that the PPA shares this information and create more awareness amongst cyclists. When there are consequences to disobeying the rules cyclists will be more inclined to obey him. Well done PPA and keep up the good work!
